On behalf of GMs @Nail and @Blue Jay 22, the New York Islanders are proud to announce the following signings:

David Cotton - 3 years, $700k

Travis Sanheim - 2 years, $4m*

* As Travis Sanheim is an RFA from Boston, @Canuck Surfer will have seven days from this announcement (10:48 am PST, July 8, 2018) to either match the offer or accept compensation. Due to the contract's salary, the compensation owed would be a 2nd Round Pick (2019).

Rieder , Claesson , Carey and Fucale all with new Jobs   ..thats fine.

Claesson and Carey will have to fight for a Roster Spot  while Rieder should be fixed for a 3rd line role or so.

That leaves Desharnais , Franson and Cramarossa without NHL Contracts so far.

Franson wasnt bad in the NHL last Season and he had a great time with Rockford playing the Calder Cup Finals in the AHL.

Desharnais is rumoured that he will join a KHL Team.  We´ll know more in the next weeks.

Former New York Rangers, Edmonton Oilers, and Montreal Canadiens forward David Desharnais has signed with Lokomotiv of the KHL.

The 31-year-old Desharnais spent last season with the New York Rangers, finishing with six goals and 22 assists in 71 games.

Desharnais spent the majority of his time in the NHL with the Habs, and had 87 goals and 195 assists in 524 career games.

Two other players with NHL experience signed in the KHdL on Monday as well. Winger Iiro Pakarinen, who spent four seasons with the Oilers, signed with Magnitka. And Patrice Cormier, a former Winnipeg Jets centre, signed with Barys Astana.
