He’s a capable goal scorer, and a hell of a player, but what stands out to us is his intangibles and leadership qualities. His tenacity and grit has been so important for such a prolonged period of time, and he’s shown his leadership capabilities by being our captain. These skills are impossible to teach, and since his legacy with Anaheim is likely at an end, we’ve decided to go this season without a captain, choosing to have 3 alternates instead.
