Wild not adding an extra F or D as allowed for the exhibition games.  They know their lineup and will just skate 12F + 6Ds.  Stalock will start but Dubnyk should also play per Evason yesterday.  They still don't know who will start vs Vancouver.

In other words, their depth sucks and no one is worth battling for a spot.

This is an extension of the regular season for them and not the start of a new season.  They know their lineup.  Rask is F13 and Pateryn is injured.  The other players were in the AHL during the regular season.  No reason for them to take the spot of a regular player.

Same lines and same pairings that Evason was trying to play before the season paused.

So they couldn't dress an extra body (or two) to sit on the bench? What if they suffer an injury, wouldn't it be favourable to get a guy in right away to gel in game time in their only exhibition game? What if they suffer an injury during the play-in, wouldn't it be good to give some depth who has been sitting idle for months a bit of game action since they're set on their lines anyway? There's no hindrence to them to dress the extra guys given this rare instance in doing so.
