CRAZY_4_NAZZY
Abbotsford's team starting to score lots with a healthy lineup. Don't even have Bailey or Rempal in the lineup tonight.

-AJ-
In 82 games (I'm not actually sure if AHL teams play 82 games this year), Dries would be on pace for 53 goals, making him the first AHL player to surpass the 50-goal mark in over 10 years. Alexandre Giroux scored exactly 50 goals in 69 games in 2009-10, one year after becoming the 5th player in AHL history to score 60 goals in a season the year prior with the Hershey Bears. 1

The Pacific division only plays 68 games this season and although he is not likely to hit the 50 goal mark; he is still putting in an impressive performance IMO.

Without Dries, Petan, and Rempel our farm club would have been disastrous this season. They have been great to watch all year. With all the call ups this is pretty much the first time since the start of the season where Abby’s roster is back to full again. So many pto’s this year to cover for them. Cull has done a good job patching the holes as usual, but it hasn’t been sexy hockey lol. Lots of up and down games this year. With a full roster hopefully moving forward they can make a solid push for the playoffs. Also, they are undefeated since they switched their home jersey from white to green…and they look awesome

There are a lot of CDC'ers that have been complaining about all the older AHL vets on the team and lack of prospects. I am not one of them. I do believe management thought it very important to field a competitive team for the inaugural season and they did not have enough quality prospects to do that. Most of the vets are on one year contracts so they can be replaced quite easily as the teams current and future draft picks begin to fill the void. In the meantime the fans of the Abby Canucks get to see some very competitive hockey and possibly some playoff games as well.

86Viking
Rathbone with another multi point game. Wonder how Klimovich has been doing, he is not getting much ice time or points. Young guy, could use a couple more years developing in the AHL it seems and hopefully he can fight for a spot in camp.

Klim has been ok, snake bitten. Has hit a lot of posts lately. His shot is definitely something to watch for. He is playing on the 4th line, getting PP time as well. Defensively he needs work but what kid doesn’t. He is a sniper and it’s the way he plays his game. He is always looking to get into a shooting position. Some people might read that as lazy or not being defensive aware, but it’s just the nature of the beast so to speak. He does need to work on his perception of when and where to be “the right spots at the right time” but once again that is normal for a kid in the AHL learning how to play on smaller ice. I think he’s 2 years away. But you never know with these kids, he could come back next year and blow the doors off…kids that good when he is on his game. Just needs to bring it more often.
