These players will be monitored throughout the year and if it is determined that they are full time NHL players, they will request NHL playing time. If this is not granted, they will request trades and/or walk to free agency. Very happy that GMs are taking the initiative and signing players to fill out their rosters, all but one of these players is now signed. I will try and continue this throughout the year as more players appear in NHL games. Our director of pro scouting has been high on Soucy since we joined the league. His name came up a few times during Larkin negotiations but there were other players we liked better so it didn't work out. We continued to badger LA about him since then, and now with Walker out for the season it was vital to get some help on D, but we also needed contract term so we're not wasting assets on a rental in case we miss playoffs. I guess you could say we had extra motivation to do it now because of the Walker injury, and the Kings had a little extra motivation with Soucy's healthy scratching, so it was a bit of a perfect storm.
