Me_
Montreal will be looking to make some moves as well as the Canucks. What better way to improve the team by bringing back Toffoli. What would it take to bring him back this time around?

Actually.. fix issues at once and make it.. Canucks: Toffoli Kulak 2nd 2022 7th 2023 Canadiens: Boeser Brisebois Highmore (Conditional) 2nd 2024 Edited November 30, 2021 by ZH96 1

Also Brisebois and Highmore add no value to the deal. Plus you’re expecting them to add a 2nd when Toffoli is putting up similar numbers to Boeser at a discount

Brisebois is a gamble and contract throw in. Highmore is Motte 2.0 and adds value.

Also I had Kulak in the deal so mathematically the Canadiens would actually be shedding a little salary in this trade LOL. Toffoli scores just as much as Boeser , doesn’t miss 20 games a season with injury, and doesn’t require a $7.5m offer sheet. And he doesn’t cost Montreal a 2nd Edited November 30, 2021 by qwijibo

What GM signs a potential 30 goal scorer to a 1 year contract?

If he doesn’t want yo stay in Montreal and they’re not willing to pay him $7.5m then he becomes a free agent. So they lose Toffoli, Kulak and a 2nd for 3/4 of a list season of a struggling Boeser. That qualifying offer presents a lot of risk to Montreal
