Montreal will be looking to make some moves as well as the Canucks.

What better way to improve the team by bringing back Toffoli.

What would it take to bring him back this time around?

Boeser. 1 for 1. They throw in a Conditional pick. Actually.. fix issues at once and make it..

Canucks: Toffoli

                 Kulak

                 2nd 2022

                 7th 2023

Canadiens: Boeser

                   Brisebois

                   Highmore

(Conditional) 2nd 2024

Montreal passes based on the fact that Toffoli is signed to a very team friendly contract for the next 3 years compared to Boeser who has a $7.5m qualifying offer due after this season.  Also Brisebois and Highmore add no value to the deal. Plus you’re expecting them to add a 2nd when Toffoli is putting up similar numbers to Boeser at a discount

Montreal accepts and adds a 2nd because in the spring Boeser turns 25 and Toffoli turns 30. Brisebois is a gamble and contract throw in. Highmore is Motte 2.0 and adds value.

Factor in Boeser’s contract status and cost. And no.  They don’t

Factor in Boeser will only cost them likely $3 Mil more while being younger and having far more upside than Toffoli; and they say yes.

Toffoli scores just as much as Boeser , doesn’t miss 20 games a season with injury, and doesn’t require a $7.5m offer sheet.  And he doesn’t cost Montreal a 2nd

Q...............

Boeser does not require a 7.5 offer sheet, only if it is a 1 year deal.

What GM signs a potential 30 goal scorer to  a 1 year contract?

His qualifying offer is $7.5m. That’s the only thing that’s guaranteed right now.  If he wants to play hardball he can.

He can also sign a 8 year contract that looks better long term...........

It is not fair to make hypotheticals, that could be anything

That goes for both of us.............

Right. Except my point is 100% fact.  If he doesn’t want yo stay in Montreal and they’re not willing to pay him $7.5m then he becomes a free agent.  So they lose Toffoli, Kulak and a 2nd for 3/4 of a list season of a struggling Boeser.  That qualifying offer presents a lot of risk to Montreal

I put him on ignore ages ago.  In his opinion every player who’s not a Canuck is a bustaroo

Ha ha!  We beat you!  And little smurf Caufield sucks Maple syrup flavoured socks.  He should be in the minors.

Nice city though.  My second favourite to Quebec.
