RWJC
Kravtsov for Motte + 2024 2nd Rags get a valuable piece (but perhaps a rental) in Motte and and a nice future pick (maybe too far in the future for their liking tho?) Nux obtain an unproven soon to be RFA RW with some decent size and talent that they can attempt to use in the top 6 and potentially challenge Brock for his spot on the right side in the future if he re-signs, but in the now maybe closes the door a bit further to pressure a cheaper contract or BB being traded out if they can’t come to an agreement. Is this a fair deal or would we have to give up more? I realize the Rags wanted a top prospect earlier in the season, but with them in playoff position and wanting to add, is this a sufficient low risk trade that helps them get stronger? RWJC
Ok, let’s just say we take him out of the equation… Kravtsov for Motte and 2nd?

RWJC
Just now, Alflives said: Motte is worth more than Krapsoft. To us, yes, but he’s also a potential UFA rental, something that we have failed to cash in on in recent past. what he does bring would help the Rags in the playoffs and that combined with a 2nd might be enough to swing the deal? I think the 2nd would have to be 2024 or later because the next two drafts are just too juicy to be losing that pick. I also think the Rags might be able to secure a better return for Kravtsov than this deal. you never know though. this is also pending we abandon hope for the playoffs and decide to sell off prior to/at deadline

He is worth about a second now, and his value is dropping. So Motte is worth a second, and his value is going up. Motte for Krapsoft and the Rangers add a later pick is fair. Motte for Krapsoft + 4th (2022) 1

Motte for Krapsoft + 4th (2022) Kravtsov has stalled in the NHL yes, but he’s playing well in the K right now, but yeah his value is diminishing. he’s definitely high risk and that’s why I thought a future 2nd might help mitigate but maybe you’re right and no pick is needed. perhaps there’s a better return for Motte alone elsewhere anyway

If we trade Motte, there are other targets. Maybe a young D?
Rabbit
Motte is one of the best 4th line. I would like to keep him. If he asked 1.5-2M, signed him.
Provost
If Motte isn't planning in signing a deal that is no more than $2 million x 3 year max... then any significant return like Kravtsov is a pretty good deal. Kravtsov is better return than a late 1st round pick and no team is probably going to offer a 1st round pick for a really good 4th liner. I don't trade Motte if all that is coming back is a 2nd round pick, but the price doesn't have to be all that high to have it make sense. I even move him for marginal value if it is in a package where Poolman or Dickenson go out to clear cap space.
Crimson
If you can get a 2nd for Motte you take it and run. If the Rangers offer up Kravtsov for him you make the trade call on the other line before you let them hang up the phone. 1
Bobby James
I like the idea of the proposal. I want Van to sign Motte but preferably for less than 2 million a season (maybe 1.75 per year for 4-5 years). If he wants 2.5 or something I'd rather we trade him. I'd do the deal with a slight adjustment to the pick we offer. To Rangers: Motte Vancouver 4th round pick To Van: Kravtsov Rangers get a great bottom 6 piece and PK specialist. We take a chance on a player who has top 6 upside, but hasn't shown it in the NHL at all really.
