As noted in the contract details popup on the Rosters page, his NMC notes indicate that the NMC expired at the end of 2021-22. So he no longer holds a NMC. While both players have big tickets and long term contracts, a quick look at our overall salary structure shows that our capsheet was incredibly clean after having our three retained salary slots empty out this summer and having only two contracts past the 25-26 season before adding these two fine players. And with the contracts of both Jakub Voracek and Tanner Pearson likely to end up on LTIR going forward, we felt that the adding players of this calibre for nothing more than money and a drop of about 50 slots in the draft was too hard to pass up on, and we still have plenty of money left over. Our goal in LA is to make the playoff next year. We feel that Coots and Hallsy will help us in that regard, as our top-9 is much much stronger today than it was two weeks ago. The 2nd round pick is great but moving up 14 spots in the 4th round is some pretty good back end upside. We feel Marcus is a reasonable contract at the peak of his performing career and so we wish him well with Vancouver going forward. Tough negotiations and fun negotiations, for sure. Thank you @theo5789 and thank you C2X for what I think is the fastest posting of a trade deal in GML history...when it was agreed to by both of us and i then opened my team sheet: the moves were already done...hahahaha.....Cheers all.
