Umm... Alot of people are saying zegras was yapping about troys father here... Yikes.

I said it before in the previous thread but it must have been something pretty gross to get Troy incensed like that.

Zegras is a walking example of what people picture when they think of the "douchey hockey bro". He's like the villain in a Disney made-for-tv movie about high school

Columbus still have interest in Miller?

Were they ever or was that another speculation of Vancouver media?  Kekaleinen was pretty explicit when he said he's not trading the future for the now.  Davidson, his boss who also oversaw NYR's rebuild, just gave an update of where they are as a franchise. He talks of how their objective was to be in the hunt late in the season (Ie not even making the playoffs just yet) but that injuries derailed their season and their team as a whole lost considerable development time.  Gaudreau signed there knowing it's going to be a tough initial go as they wait on their young players to make progress - no different than Panarin signing in UFA shortly after they announced a rebuild.

A win for Buffalo tonight would have them jump Pittsburgh and take possession of the 8th Eastern playoff spot

They've got like four games in hand on Washington who sits 7th, if they were to acquire say.. Meier out of San Jose they could get even hotter down the stretch

They could fit his cap hit and have space to extend him

San Jose reportedly wants a first-rounder — and one Grade-A or two Grade-B prospects, or one good prospect and a young, established NHL player https://sanjosehockeynow.com/san-jose-sharks-timo-meier-trade-return/

Meier's stats are similar to Horvat's but he's a bit younger and he's a wing, you think he'd get a similar return, maybe a bit more

In fact Okposo's expiring 6M would go a long way to paying Meier, captain or not Buffalo could simply move on from Okposo

Buffalo also has a wealth of young talent, picks, and prospects they could easily move, all in all I'd be surprised if Meier goes anywhere else and you know it's only a matter of time til San Jose trades him (it'll help them bottom out and tank)
