They are already a decent margin ahead of other teams in games played. Must be a soft end of year schedule for them. Really doesn't bode well for our pick. 4 games on Buffalo and Pittsburgh. Their March schedule looks pretty solid. A lot of 2 day breaks. Start the month with 3 days off. Only 2 back to backs. Sadly for them they only have 1 game against Washington and 1 against Buffalo. More games against them gives them more chances to close the gaps with wins. Definitely an interesting team to watch going down the stretch.

Yeah if they can pick up some more momentum the next 3 games they could make a run.

The wildcard race in the east will be fun to watch.

Nah it’s over, DeNiro has already decided Pittsburgh and Buffalo are going 4-0 with their games in hand. Isles are done. Pitt locked in their spot already. :sadno:

Jokes on you. Both of you are wrong. Ottawa is gonna go 30-2-0 when they unleash the Hamburglar and go on a nutty late season run again. I have declared it.

Let’s see where they all are 10 games or so which is right around the deadline or after for most teams.

East is tight and will be fun to watch. Probably get an early playoff feel in games down the stretch.

I will be keeping tabs.

So what does that say about us as a fanbase?

Our fanbase always hates on the current captain. People hating on Horvat for not fighting everyone. But those same people want Petey as captain. Once Petey becomes captain, their love affair will start with someone else. It's literally the same obsession we had with backups the entire time Lu was here. We are a weird fanbase man.

All the more reason why this fixation on Pittsburgh vs Isles is weird. Even Florida isn't entirely out of the race. Lots of season left. The playoff race is barely 60% done. Why are we counting points with 28-30 games left? Acting like it's written in stone.

Nothings written in stone but the margin for error this time of year is so tight as we saw last season. Even when you go on a winning streak all the teams ahead of you are playing each other and picking up points.

Having 4 games in hand on a team with less than 30 games to play does make a huge difference.

For example if the Pens go 16-16 in their last 32 the Isles have to go 17-11 just to pass them. Every win over .500 and the Isles have to go 18-10, 19-9, 20-8 etc.

Unless people really think the Pens are gonna fall off the map it’s gonna be very tough for the Isles to make it.

The Caps could be caught but you’re still fighting with the Sabres and Panthers who are both getting hot.

I cringed so hard at all the proposals to move Lu because now we had Eddie Lack :picard:

NYI are 4-0 their last 4 with Van, Montreal and Ottawa on deck good chance it’s 7-0 by the end of that stretch.

We should just not have a captain for 2-3 seasons and see who steps up, it'd be funny

If you been to a game in recent years. Most of the fans aren’t even interested in the game. Half the time they’re on their phones, chatting it up with their friends, or getting pissed drunk on expensive beer.

The only fans who are remotely invested in the game are people who bring their kids.

Where did I say they’d go 4-0?

4 games in hand with less than 30 games makes a big difference. Simple math will tell you that.

Clearly you’re a Bo fanboy and are rooting for the Isles, that’s fine.

Doesn’t change the reality that any team on the outside looking in with less games to play is gonna have a hard time getting in.

We did that, with Bo. Boeser and Petey called him cap before he was even named captain. And a good portion of the fanbase still turned on him. Lol. At the very least there was a lot of vocal folks here that didn't like him.

A little over simplification, the Vegas and Seattle games I went to the crowd was great.

The Washington game this year not so much. But that was during a losing streak and Washington steamrolled the Canucks in short order.

Bet they’re not.

And who cares? Every team they’re chasing is going to have those easy teams down the stretch. It all evens out.

Doesn’t change the fact the margin of error is much smaller for them with those 4 more games played.
