You make some valid points. He's definitely a take it in and do it himself player as opposed to a distributor.

50 of his 89 assists were on the power play. While 43 of his goals were 5x5.

Seems like he's more of a selfish player when his team isn't up a man or two.

 

But yes, I do agree he is the best offensive player in the game.
