Question/confirmation re: Buyouts:

So a player with a NMC can be bought out of their contract without a doubt. The grey area is a player say with a NMC cannot be placed on Waivers or traded etc at anytime so does one still place the player on Unconditional Waivers ( CDCGML requirement to buyout a player ) for the purpose of a buyout as we are instructed in the CBA or is there something we should adjust so as like in real life a player with a NMC does not require Waivers before being bought out ?

Thank you.

Just like with OEL in real life. With an NMC I don’t think you should have to put them on waivers to buy them out

Picks 14 and 26 have been moved.

Have acquired Jake Bean at 2m for next season. (RFA at year's end).

Also have Max Comtois being discussed and he could in theory be in play.

We are trying to fit our team for next season under the salary cap. We might be able to do so as we currently stand but Comtois still needs his extension and until our kids get a shot at training camp it isn't 100% certain.

Joel Blomqvist is a name we could also consider putting into play. He is the Penguins top goalie prospect. A prospect Ian Clarke really liked in the 2020 entry draft.

Not an 3xpert, nor do I care which way it is ruled, but a thought: unconditional waivers is a legally different term from waivers or by extension waiver clauses. For league business purposes I would think NMC players are placed on 'unconditional waivers for the purpose of a buyout" and that has no negative effects to the GM or team other than a day's delay in buying him out. That is all I got. Interested in the real answer.
