Boeser's "avoid-getting-hit-by-a-golf-ball" outfit.

Canucks need an anthem singer that's going to pump up the fans for the game, like the singers in Chicago and Boston, etc. Really miss opera man actually. he got the building going. Marie Hui is a good singer and she certainly looks nice, but she doesn't make me want to destroy the other team in our building. IMO, George Canyon has got to be the worst, with that fake southern accent. Guy's from Nova Scotia.

[Report/Rumour] Elias Pettersson Contract Talks
Nucker 67 replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Petey is a good boy. He will accept $10.5 x 6. -
I thought Boeser would've had a great season last year, but the loss of his dad last off season was weighing heavy. I think it scared him, the thought of being traded. He loves it in VAN, loves his team mates. He wants to be here, because he knows there's something special happening. Same with Miller, he really wanted to stay too. Brock's off season training sounds positive, he knows what's at stake. I think he comes back next season with 6 times the goals as his number (36 goals) - 3rd in team goals Gonna be a good year

[Proposal] Trade and Signings
Nucker 67 replied to Bure_Pavel's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
I was reading Canucks Army and they had an article on 4 trades the Canucks could make before the season starts (grain of salt) to NSH - Beauvillier to VAN - 2nd (2024) to SJ - Myers (bonus paid) to VAN - 4th (2024) to CHI - Pearson (50%) to VAN - 4th (2025) to OTT - Garland to VAN - Mattieu Joseph and 3rd (2025) Kuzmeko - Pettersson - Boeser Mikheyev - Miller - Joseph Hoglander - Blueger - Joshua DiGiuseppe - Aman - Podkolzin It would create a lot of cap space and extra mid picks for the next two drafts. Doubtful this stuff happens, but I would be very pleased if it did. -
[Proposal] Trade and Signings

If only they could morph Garland with Boeser. I really like Garland's gritty play, he goes to the dirty areas, always getting in opponents' faces after whistles and creating some havoc, pushing and shoving bigger players after the whistle just to frustrate them. But he's a small guy and won't hurt anyone, really. Boeser needs to do more of this, though. -
Boeser's move after the whistle is to shrug his shoulders. He does it every time, I'm not sure why. Sore shoulder? Equipment problem? Because it looks cool? I'd like to see Brock play with more grit. He's not a small player and needs to find a bit of nasty, get his hands dirty. See the opponent as the enemy, willing to do what it takes to win. Brock has a big heart though, seems like a sensitive guy, so we'll see. Love hearing Boeser is training with a trainer Tocchet recommended, to amp up his conditioning. Looks like Brock is taking it seriously and I'm hopeful he comes to camp as a faster, more competitive player.

Looking forward to finally seeing my Steelers in Seattle this season (New Years Eve) I'll be decked out in black and yellow, waving the Terrible Towel

Saw Alriksson play in the dev camp scrimmage. He's a big dude, but also had some battle and hustle. I have hopes for him that he can develop into a good bottom 6 player one day. Alriksson - Raty - Klimovich might be a nice 3rd line in a few years. Really like that he's playing for Guelph Storm next season. Start getting used to the rough n tough NA game on smaller ice.

Flames to retire Miikka Kiprusoff‘s No. 34
Nucker 67 replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in General Hockey Discussion
So, the Flames will have two goalies numbers retired? When I think of Flames success back in the day, I can't help but think of Fleury, MacInnis and Nieuwendyk, to name a few. Guys that won it all for the Flames. Kipper won the Vezina in 2006, nice personal award, but what else did he do to justify this number retirement? Missed the playoffs the last 4 years of his career. Is this a joke? -
Good seeing Kuzmenko doing sprint intervals in the sand at some tropical location with his trainer, working hard to get in the best shape he can. Now, seeing Petey in the gym, the boy is growing up, lean and mean. No worries, he will be ready. I heard Podkolzin and Klimovich are training together, really wanting to be ready and impress Tocchet at camp. I wonder how Miller trains. For some reason I see him going deep into the woods and chopping down trees, wearing work boots, a red flannel shirt and touque, just like Johnny Canuck. Really like seeing the off-season progress for these guys.

2023-24 Abbotsford Canucks Thread
Nucker 67 replied to CRAZY_4_NAZZY's topic in Prospects / Farm Team
I'd like to see Raty take a big step. Hope he's putting in the work this off season. I went to a couple of Abby games last season and they were good fun, the atmosphere, the prices, and the quality of hockey, exciting games. Definitely going to try and get back for a few more games this season. -
That RTH video, supposedly ripping apart the Habs and why they didn't take Michkov etc. I didn't watch it, because I couldn't really stomach the whining from that fan base who have been crying since the words "Jesper Kotkaniemi" were mumbled. That franchise is so spoiled, all of those Cup banners in the rafters, and they still whine like no other. Actually, I'm, kind of surprised that an upset Canucks fan wasn't doing a similar video regarding Willander and Benson It's pretty pathetic and sad how this 18 year old "kid" (Reinbacher) has been treated by that Franco-fanbase, on the best day of his hockey life.
