What makes this all of this bad, is our scouts.
Didn't the Canucks really want Weise and wasn't he suppose to be the size we where needing?
To me he is no different that Oreskovich.
Our scouts are scaring me a bit with these past few deals. These deals all seem to be gambles.
The first ever draft pick Gillis was a part from,is traded,
The Canucks have not had any young players that MG has drafted, made our team.
There is a concept for your next thread - now that MG has been extended, and AV, and the assistant coaching staff, do you think it is time for new scouts?
Answer - what do you know about the Canucks scouts? Do you think the Canucks built a contender with a bunch of scouts who don't know how to assess talent?
Weise was signed off of waivers for $600 k... not sure what you are going on about there - he was a depth signing that cost virtually nothing and certainly delivered all that could be expected of him - big deal.
Before you start complaining about his draft picks, consider that aside from Hodgson, they've drafted Sauve, Schroeder, Rodin, Connauton, Honzik, Jensen... picks since Gillis took over are starting to be old enough to compete for spots... and they have consistently drafted near the end of the round, so really, thou doth protest too much. This complaint that his picks haven't made the team (a contender) will expire soon.
The idea of substituting Kassian for Kesler is a good one - I'm sure the Canucks scouting staff considered that when acquiring him...
