The guy was jerked around and left in the minors when he's definitely NHL capable. He got his chance to show it again and had a good season playing over 20 minutes a game and had the best +/- on the Dallas D. Maybe he wants to get a 2 or 3 year deal, not a single year, or maybe there are places he knows will have interest that he'd rather be than Dallas.
