canuckbeliever
So if its not by much you telling me he is worth more/better then Dan Hamhuis?? Get real. I'm pretty sure Dan Hamhuis was probably offered close to 6mil per from the flyers and penguins, but chose to play here.
TheCammer
That is a lot of $$$ for Dennis Wideman.

DeNiro
DeNiro is like our (CDC's) version of Eklund. Always makes for a good laugh.
Tanev's Smirk
Well I didn't exactly think the Flames were going to hand him a blank check, did you? Of course he's not going to turn that down. I mean really, are the Flames trying to become a laughing stock?
CB007
I have a feeling he's gonna find it tougher to produce in the NW
Canucks_fo_life
I cant stop laughing, long contract for a guy whose best days are behind him. Feaster would have been better off with a bucket of chicken in return
DeNiro
Honestly? I think it comes naturally to them.
topbananas
Wideman scored fewer 5v5 pts/60 than Shane O'Brien, Aaron Rome and Yannick Weber. https://twitter.com/passittobulis/status/218065451849224192
Zoolander
wow, that's a lot more than I thought he'd get. My guess is he's JBO 2.0 Is Jordan Henry even good? I haven't heard much about him. If he is, than WSH walks out of this deal the winner.
Paul_Kariya28
5.25 for Wideman Feaster is an idiot, and the Flames are just awful. One of the most pathetic teams in the nhl.
D.Doughty
good signing for the flames
Smashian Kassian
No way he would play on our 3rd line if we got him. He was an all-star this year. The top line would be Edler and Wideman if we got him.
LanghorneslimRules
Wideman is a soild player. The cap seems to go up every year and when you look at hammers contract even from a perspective of an unbiased fan you have to realize that widemans deal is soild. Cap since lockout: 2011-12: $64.3 million 2010-11: $59.4 million 2009-10: $56.8 million 2008-09: $56.7 million 2007-08: $50.3 million 2006-07: $44 million The cap goes up on average around 4-5 million discounting one year. You cannot compare one years salary with the next. Basic economics as reveune an inflation increase so does salaries, you can only base it on this years cap and not previous contracts. Wideman is slightly over paid but not a whole lot. His salary should be around 3.75- 4.5 million.
JordanEberle
Trades away one of their few prospects and a pick for an old defencemen whose best days are behind him on an aging roster. This is a terrible move for Calgary
oldnews
We'll see if he can produce like he did in Boston and Washington on a.....team like Calgary, or if this is yet another one of their duuuhhhhhmmbbbb cap hits.... JBo 6.7, Cammalleri 6, Wideman 5.2, Stajan 3.5... p.s. Hammer puts up 37 pts while being a shutdown guy...not a powerplay, join the rush player...
