Sedins

How about we just do this:

D. Sedin - H. Sedin - Doan

Booth - Kesler - Burrows

Higgins - Lapierre - Hansen

Raymond - Malhotra - Kassian

Nun wrong with a good old regular line up, couldn't see why we wouldn't play Doan with first line minutes if we do end up signing him..

well...

they don't get shut-down. They can still get chances even in the playoffs when checking is tight cause of their skill, and they are better together in this regard. they are elite players ffs!

they could use a line-mate that can create them some room and not be a liability. Their only negative is that they don't check or hit. And that is their strength cause they will last longer in this league at a higher level because of it. Add a player who won't take BS and make players look over their shoulder ... Doan would be perfect...

you add by combining, you subtract by splitting. haven't you seen them play over the last 5 years?

Do you guys think AV should work on splitting the Sedins up sometimes, like every other game. (only when they're not lighting it up)

Henrik has already shown he can play just as well without his brother and I'm sure Daniel can too.

This will help make the team harder to play against and we won't be as predictable.

The Sedins cycle game doesn't seem to work very well in the playoffs and this could provide us with another option for when the Sedins get shut down. We have enough depth to do this, and the Sedins will always be together on the powerplay which is their bread and butter.

When the Sedins get put back together they will probably play even better after being split up for a bit. They already said they don't care if they play together. This also will eliminate our 1st line being the softest in the league, and this will make it harder on opposing teams because they will have to develop new strategies to play against the Canucks if the Sedins are split up, because they can't just shut the cycle game down.

(With the players we have now)

Sedin-Sedin-Burrows

Booth-Kesler-Raymond

Higgins-Lapierre-Hansen

Weise-Malholtra-Kassian

when Sedins get split up

Burrows-Henrik-Kassian - played awesome together against LA, Kassian will also be better this year

Daniel-Kesler-Booth - 1st line on any team, Daniel can be the playmaker Kes needs and can also score obviously, with Booth crashing the net.

Higgins-Lapierre-Hansen - 3rd line stays the same

Raymond-Malholtra-Weise - solid defensively 4th line, soft, but I'm sure it will be improved with Luongo being traded.

Thoughts?i personally believe splitting up the sedins for 5 on 5 would benefit the team greatly....remember how well daniel was at the skills competition passing drills...we would then have a solid passer/playmaker on 3 lines.i like the idea alot....if it doesnt pan out ..im sure things could go back to the old lines.go canucks go!!!!

It is a great idea that should be done sporadically throughout the season. They are proven able to score without each other and are a menace for opposing teams together.

This can easily sove the predictability issue that Daniel brought up at the locker clean out exit interview.

Both have played really well with Burrows, Lapierre and Kesler. I believe that may have been the Canucks Achilles heel up to this point.

Teams would struggle to keep up with the line changes. The core of this team has amazing chemistry, no doubt about that.

The defence is clearly a larger, younger, and stronger one. Adding Garrison will make us a more multi-faceted threat. Garrison will have a career year.

Schneider has clearly proven himself in being a solid playoff goaltender who can steal huge games, think Boston.

We won't get a huge return for Luongo and must accept that. One roster player. If we can add the right one? (Versteeg, Colborne....) Think of much deeper that makes us.

I am excited to see the soldiers like Volpatti, Pinizotto, Ebbet, and Kassian tend for roster spots, along with Jensen and Gaunce possibly....The Canucks look better than we did in 2010. As is.

The main reason to split the Twins should be match ups!

1) Who else would have a passer as good as the Twins on two lines? (Just Pittsburgh, and its possibly debate able as I said passer). Hank has the ability to make anybody more effective offensively, why limit that to Danny & Burrows when he could be used to get the best out of a younger player like Kassian.

2) It would be substantially easier to field lines that have speed, talent and size! Again, a line with Hank, Burrows and Kassian would have plenty of scoring, speed and a beastly body with a temperament to make the line competitive. And Danny becomes the passer sizeable speedsters Kesler and Booth have been waiting for?

Note, as special as they are, the Twins are neither big, nor fast. But lines crafted with one each would have all elements of a great line;

Danny/Kesler/Booth

Burrows/Hank/Kassian

Those match ups are physically waaay more competitive!

i never use this because its cliche and quite lame... but here it goes.... :picard:

man that felt stupid.. but not as stupid as your first line! seeing Kesler up there makes me want to puke! kesler is one of the best THIRD line centers in the game, he is not a first line center.

He is a greedy player, he doesn't make others around him better, he dives, he is driven by his ego and he is not a team player. dont get me wrong, i like kesler, but chosing him over hank to play with our number one sniper (danny) and a potential signing that has heart and soul is ABSOLUTELY STUPID!

simply put, Henrik makes players around him better and kesler make players around him irrelevant.
