Dion Phaneuf
IMO he is a natural leader. Good choice.
ManUtd
Good for him. One of my favorite players. I'm a little surprised they didn't pick O'Reilly.
Langdon Algur
Wow wonder how Statsny and Duchenne feel about this. This could cause some resentment in the dressing room.
Down by the River
Didn't see this coming, but he is one of my favourite players to watch in the entire league. Guy really knows how to compete. Reminds me a bit of Forsberg, has less skill but perhaps more physical. Plus, where the hell is the guy's accent lol! He sounds more Canadian than me! LeanBeef
As others have already said; he was going to be a captain sometime soon anyways. But wow that was pretty quick. I think he'll be a Toews type leader for the Avs
uber_pwnzor
Amazing! He is so classy, speaks English so well, AND he's their best player.
nd84
Captain material, but he's 19 and isn't that incredible a player. Not sure I like this move at this point in time, but Landeskog is still a stud so it could work out. I just think it's too much pressure, they should let him develop more before throwing this at him...there's plenty of guys more experienced than him on that team who could wear the C with respect. Caboose
Landeskog is everything you could want in a captain. He was the team leader in goals, had 219 hits, is incredible defensively, and IMO is on an entire new level compared to all other rookies last year. Ossi Vaananen
I agree with the selection. Statsny and Duchene have both battled stretches of inconsistency. Hejduk was never much of a leader, just the longest serving Av. If anything this is a statement by the Av's saying "we're young and ready". Smashian Kassian
What a huge suprise. Love the guy though, it's a bit soon but he would have gotten it anyways in a year or two.
Sharpshooter
Slap in the face to Stastny. Youngest captain in NHL history....big friggin deal. Kids rarely make good leaders. I don't believe this was a good decision for the locker-room, imo.

Watermelons
How many hockey articles have to include Crosby.... But congrats to Landeskog, but I still think we should have packaged Scheider for the 2nd pick in order to draft Landeskog..

BM24
I can say i don't watch many Avs games and i don't know much about the kid, but is he really captain material at age 19?
