vancanfan
I believe Kovy wants to see/read how the new CBA is worded before he makes a final decision.
Boudrias
Kovy and the jerk from the Islanders are under contract. If the KHL doesn't honour the existing agreement with the NHL I hope the NHL burns them. No Olympics and send all the Russian juniors home. I have never seen a group of people who had more of a kiss my ass attitude!
WHL rocks
No he won't stay in KHL. This is just a bunch of over analyzing by Canadian hockey media. The CBA hasn't been ratified yet. Kovy is the Captain of his current team in the KHL. He's not going to jump on a plane back to Jersey before the deal gets certified. . North American culture is different from most of the word, it's difficult for the likes of Bobby Mac to consider Kovy's perspective and situation. There is a reason he's the Captain. He knows what he's doing and how to go about things. Kovy will be back in Jersey when camps open.

Master Mind
I know he'll most likely be back in NJ for training camp, but that would be a huge blow to NJ to lose both him and Parise in one season

Master Mind
The Devils would die offensively if kovy didn't cone back. Like you said losing Kovy and Parise would be devastating to the team.
Jaku
Yea they would plummet to the bottom of the standings. I hope for their sake that he does come back and play well enough to give them a chance to make the playoffs again.

Tortorella's Rant
Imagine if he stayed. Parise out. Kovalchuk out It's like removing the twins from Vancouver. Ouch.
Jai604
He won't stay in Russia. He's just waiting for the CBA to get raitified. Visnovsky, on the other hand, may actually try. He needs to get his ass back to N.A.

hockeyville88
After the long process NJ went through to re-sign Kovalchuk, the fact that he's even considering staying in the KHL just proves how the Russians (or at least a majority of them) still lack loyalty towards the NHL. We don't know the full story though. Ovechkin is threatening to play in Russia as well, but only if the owners choose to shorten the lengths of long-term contracts or if it results in lost salary. If that were the case, I think players are entitled to walk away because owners are basically going back on their word.

Dion Phaneuf
I'm more than certain that he meant that he's staying in Russia until the CBA is OFFICIAL.
PlayStation
I hate this guy, ever since the Kovalcash saga, no respect at all for this guy from me, and many more fans across the NHL. I wouldnt care if he stayed in the KHL, but since he has a contract and has made an agreement with the Devils for the remainder of his career, he better live up to that, the Devils squeezed every single penny out of what they had to sign Kovalchuk, money they could of saved for someone else, or just not spend and have some relief because well they arent one of those rich teams. Gotta feel for Devils organization and fans for what they have to put up when a guy decides to be a douchebag like this. Ofcourse nothings forsure right now, but the story right now is hes wanting to stay, but yeah things could change, we'll see, regardless of that, I'll still hate Kovalcash. Johnny Shotgun
A lot of Russians are mercenaries when it comes to hockey and loyalty to their contracts. However the National Hokey League does allow them to make their own rules often. Just look at Radulov being permitted to play for Nashville last season and the stunt he and one of his comrades pulled during the playoffs. Which comes first vodka or my team....and the answer is...
