Watching highlights of last nights game vs Ottawa, it looks like his doing well and its great to see.It sucked to see him leave in the off season but hopefully he stays health and keeps contributing to Tampa's team...His forever a Canuck.

Ahh... Sami if only that injury bug could have stayed away from you.

You know he's not going to sustain that pace. Thornton has 9 pts in 3 games. Do you really think he is going to have a 100 plus points??

Him playing decently when healthy over there was never in doubt.

Honestly, I wish all our players that left on reasonable grounds all the success in the future... except when they play us.

Good to see him do well in Tampa Bay. At least he's wearing the Canucks colour.

Sami was asked to play top 4 minutes last year and physically was was showing by the end of the year. Good for him that he got a 2 year deal for decent money. Getting Garrison at his age was the way to go. I wish Garrison hit the net more with his shot however. I like Edler's start and the fact that he looks solid along side Garrison. With time Garrison should show his strengths more consistantly.

Yeah, Salo would have been nice to have on the team this year, but a contender just can't gamble that Salo won't get injured. The odds are against Salo.

He's going to complement what they had already started to build there. Nice to see him contributing early. A shortened season with several games packed together do make me worry for him a little. Little tweaks and tears won't get much time to heal and could more easily turn into bigger problems for him.

I wish we still had him but overall I'd rather have Garrison and Tanev coming up really left little room for him.

He usually plays his best at the beginning of the season (he was looking like an allstar dman last year) hopefully he can keep it up.

I'm happy for him. Wish he was still a Canuck!

It definitely hurts when you lose your most talented defender.

Tampa Bay fans probably didn't know he was this good. Beat out 5.5m dollar Matt Carle for the top PP spot.

We borrow our team from Florida. They breed them, and take them back when we're done.

Getting injured is only a matter of time. Also, he noticably slows down as the season wears on him.

Hated to see him go, as much as Ohlund and Mitchell, but we couldn't gamble that money and term on him.
