alt kilgore
So why not keep the Eastern seaboard teams together? At least make Boston and NY teams have to pack a bag when they go on a road trip. I'm keeping the Pittsburgh / Philly rivalry intact. As well as Boston / NY Rangers. alt kilgore
I like the idea, though the seaboard division gets cleaned up by NYR and BOS.
avelanch
NBC would never allow Pitts and Washington to only play each other 2 times a year... swap columbus and DC and you got potential.
FutureNHLGm
All this will do is expose the Canucks for who they really are. Prepare to be a bubble team ladies and gentlemen.
CANUCKAHOLIC_9
don cherry's comment towards our goalie situation makes sense especially if this happens we will have the toughest division in the NHL

MikeyBoy44
Western Division Middle Division Snowbird Division Seaboard Division This Wild-Card thing they are talking about would obviously just be temporary until Seattle/Quebec/Markham and Phoenix moving happens, that would fix the problems with unbalance divisions. Mr.DirtyDangles
The realignment is a complete joke until the 3 Canadian teams in their divs are split up, or at least move one out of each into one where there is not a Canadian team.

L'Orange
This is good for the Canucks. It will ramp up the competiton while decreasing the travel. Win-win really.
Primus099
4 original 6 teams in the new Central division, that will make for some great games.
Primus099
Wouldn't we just be playing teams in our division 6 times a year and only having a few games vs other divisions? We'd only face Chicago 4 times a year still, or am I wrong on that?
spliced
As I understand it it's: Play eastern teams twice - 32 Play other western division 3 times - 21 Play own division teams 5 or 6 times - 29 The regular season part seems ok. It's the playoff format I don't like.
Kevin Biestra
Sooooooo stupid. The wild card doesn't solve ANYTHING if both 8 team divisions are in the SAME CONFERENCE. Are the people running the league all handicapped?

zombieksa
So as I see it if the standings today were the playoffs: Chicago vs. Phoenix (Wildcard) Detroit vs. Dallas Aneheim vs. SJ(Wildcard) Vancouver vs. LA Montreal vs. NYR (Wildcard team) Boston vs. Toronto Pittsburgh vs. Ottawa (Wildcard team) Carolina vs. NJ Weird how Detroit is playing a lower seed than Chicago.. kacholu
So let me get this straight, 8 out of the 14 team make it to the play-offs from West? Can someone confirm this?
