TSNBobMcKenzie: College free agent Andrej Sustr has signed a two year entry level deal with Tampa Bay.

Sustr, a Czech, is a 6-foot-8 defenceman who just completed his junior year at University of Nebraska-Omaha.

Damn hoping the Nucks could've grabbed him.

Hedman - Sustr could be deadly if Sustr reaches full potential.

He's always all over the college players I'm guessing he'd make a huge push for a 6'8 dman lol

Lol I know I'm sort of joking although I do think bribes go oon in the league... or "deal sweeteners"

A condo could be given as part of just playing for the team? It doesn't matter now though... he signed in tampa

In my eyes drouin is overrated he can score in the qmjhl but did nothing in last two gold medal games that canada lost. Fox will be better pro than him talk to me in five yrs

Gaudreau has one NHL goal whereas all your "prized" prospects have none.

ryan kesler is going to the chicago blackhawks ...       quote me on it

Gillis likely used the same pitch he did with Schultz.
"I won't promise you ice time, and I'm not going to guve you big money or many opportunities, so when you get your chances you had better do good, so...sign here?"

Likely our team wasn't on his list. Sign in west conference with insane travel, overbearing media, over zealous fans and a ton of pressure to perform immediately or sign in a place that is warm, light travel, has a great mentor, a great ex-player GM, almost no media to speak of and fans who don't know their best defenseman, let alone some kid who just signed? Hmmm that's a tough one.

Or then of course there's always the Ferry

Also,
I'm putting together a list of the criteria to be a "real" Canuck's fan. So far I have this:

1. I cheer for the Canucks, whatever happens.
2. I never say anything bad about the Canucks.
3. I know the difference between "real" fans and posers just by how they post on the CDC or where they sit at GM Place.
4. I wouldn't dream of leaving a game before it ended, even if it meant missing a train, ferry or a threesome with the wife and her hot best friend?
5. I make 10+ posts a day and I have over 10,000 posts on the CDC, so my Canuck "street-cred" is huge. Go away noob!
6. No one F's with me. I train in MMA. I'm really tough. I'll curb stomp yo' donkey.
7. I make a tonne of $$$$.
8. I'm witty.
9. If it meant missing a game, I wouldn't study for a midterm.
10. I roll with a guy who has a wicked car.
11. I like to post "source?" a lot.

he's a 6'8" young hockey player who works out and is going to be making good money, who could live in a hot location with many beaches and nightlife with countless hot and scantallly clad women about? Its kinda obvious where he's gonna sign lol

Corrado, Andersson, Tommernes, Connaution, Hutton, McNally, Price, McEneny.

Sustr is really nothing too too special anyways, there are always alot of hype for these Collage guys but most times the upside really isn't much more than players you could get through the draft. Matt Gilroy and Tyler Bozak were highly thought of Collage UFA's too. Bob Mckenzie already said this years Collage UFA crop was average at best anyways.

It surely would have been great to get him, but it's not a crushing loss.

That's great we have lots of bodies. Only one of those guys has much upside and that is Corrado.

You always overrate young players chances of playing more than handful of games in the NHL. Having half a dozen young D doesn't stop an organization like ours' need to get good quality prospects, especially free ones with size.

Our d-man prospect depth is probably a C. Compare that to as team like Pittsburgh and tell us again how we have lots of defensemen.
