Lidstrom or Niedermayer?

Recommended Posts

Lidstrom easily.

And that's no disrespect to Niedermayer, who's far from a chump. But that's just how good Lidstrom was. The only other d-man from the 2000s I might pick would be Chris Pronger at his peak, but he never maintained that consistently (or stayed consistently healthy) enough to dethrone Nick.

Lidstrom is the reason why Niedermayer has only one Norris.

No question they are both some of the best D to play the game, but it is without a doubt that Lidstrom was consistently better than Niedermayer.

In individual games anything could happen, and either are adept in nearly any situation, but if you had to have one D man defending an odd man rush, 10/10 times ts Lidstrom.

Saying there is so many guys that skate like and could be the next Niedermayer with righ development is a big stretch. You are very under valuing Niedermayber, he is as sure of a HOF'er as Lidstrom. He has won everything.
