The only other d-man from the 2000s I might pick would be Chris Pronger at his peak, but he never maintained that consistently (or stayed consistently healthy) enough to dethrone Nick. Edlerberry Posted August 4, 2013 Share Posted August 4, 2013 No question they are both some of the best D to play the game, but it is without a doubt that Lidstrom was consistently better than Niedermayer. In individual games anything could happen, and either are adept in nearly any situation, but if you had to have one D man defending an odd man rush, 10/10 times ts Lidstrom.
