Mangoes
In my opinion we should make an offer to RFA Derek Stepan Even though he is a restricted free agent I think we should make an offer but most likely a trade I see maybe giving up a couple of 1st round picks and a couple of 2nd round picks What do you think? Should we make an offer for Stepan? GO CANUCKS GO!!!!!!!!!!!!

nuck nit
Small problem pending in that the team does not have a legitimate back up goalie on the roster.
goalie13
No The Canucks only have about $2M in cap space. If that is all it would take to sign Stepan, don't you think the Rangers would have done that already?
Master Mind
No, offersheets just ruin relationships between GMs.
Plum
Definitely. Could be our 2nd line center while Kesler shutsdown the other teams top line? Offer sheet him 2.7 million per for 2 years if he wants a bridge contract. If he wants a long term contract wouldn't mind giving him 4.8 million per for 5 years, trade Booth if he can, if not Higgins would be reasonable. Rounoush
Offer sheets are for morons like Holmgren to offer to players and burn bridges with other GMs.

Frazzy Desjardins
Lmao that guy is not worth a couple firsts and a couple seconds. And offer sheeting is bad for GM relationships. NO

Down by the River
It has been a long long time since the Canucks have had some solid prospects. Let's not go out and piss off some GMs, karma could be a real bitch when Horvat, Gaunce, Shinkaruk, Corrado, and Jensen become RFAs.
Cucumber
Sedin - Sedin - Kassian (Scoring) Booth - Stepan - Schroeder (Secondary scoring) Burrows - Kesler - Hansen (Shutdown) Richardson - Lain - Weise (Checking) Our lineup can look like this, if you think he is going to be in 3C role (whichever role that is), besides Torts doesn't mind Stepan. Phil_314
lol nothing says "a big screw you" to A.V. by taking away his 1st line center right? But no, while he's good he's not worth what he wants given what Subban and Kadri got as RFA's. Their bridge contracts basically set the tone for what RFA's should expect. No way we should sign him for the $4.7M he wants though.

monza
I just said if we cannot move Booth then we move Higgins. I wrote it in my last post. Does what line I put him on matter, I can put the Sedins on the 4th line and call them the scoring line. I said if he doesn't want a bridge we can do a long term. What am I doing to make it look easy? It is just a suggestion it won't happen but if I was MG I would definitely go after Stepan because he is a 1st/2nd line center that is still developing into a star. They are apparently still far away from getting a contract for Stepan so it looks like this could happen. This is reasonable money similar to what Kadri got earlier today and you can compare these 2.
