Ugli Fruit
Lack is a great goalie. His ability to move on 2 on 1's to cover the shot on the pass is INCREDIBLE. Trading Lack at this point would be insanity. No it's not. Lack is laterally pretty average, at best. You do know he is 6' 3 with most of that being his legs, right? TimberWolf
Keep the goalies we got. Lack plays good enough to win and comes cheap.Use that cash on scorers.
oldnews
No. Eddie Lack has been great - has a .913 sv% on a team that has been battered and fragile, with key players missing on a constant basis. He is our starter and that imo is a good thing. Markstrom is also a tremendous talent who is getting some work in with R.M. and will be a great complement to Eddie next year. I think the future is extremely bright with this tandem - and with Eriksson also in the system, having just turned 24, the Canucks have no shortage of young talent at the goaltending position. There's no reason to lose patience with these guys already.
Quoted
Ya tenth in save % with .922 2nd in GAA with 1.93 and 8th in shutouts this year with 4 really sucks Oh and last year .907 /2.28 Year prior .940 1.56 those are really sucky numbers Goalie stats have as much to do with the team in front of them as the actual player so you can't only look at numbers
canuckrelevantname
Brooks hates Torts and might be just spreading sh@t to ruin him. But we digress, this thread is about signing a goalie. Funny how every thread eventually turns into fire Gillis or fire Torts. I hope this is the case. I shudder to think of a Canucks franchise managed by Feaster...the man who traded down to pick Mark Jankowski...
The Bookie
I'm ok with trying a year of two potential starters as a tandem, seeing if one can take the reigns.

poetica
No. This team has traded away too many starting goalies already. We need to create some consistency and the illusion at least that this franchise can show a fraction of the loyalty they demand from the players. Lack has been thrown into a situation not of his making that he wasn't fully ready for but he's done just fine. He's still given his team a chance to win most games, and that's really all you can ask of from a goalie. I've seen nothing to indicate that he won't do as well, and likely even better, next season when he gets the net from the start rather than being thrown into a heated playoffs race with the safety net yanked out from under him. If we ever have any hope of winning a Cup, we have to start focusing on the other areas of our game. It won't matter who we have in net if we continue with the spotty defense and lack of scoring support.
Pouria
Everyone just needs to shut up about goaltending. We've got two great young goalies and we don't need to trade for another one. When we had Schneider and Luo, everyone kept talking about how we could not accommodate both of them since they are both starting goalies, now it seems like everyone talks about how we should get another starter when we already have Lack who has shown the ability to be a good starter here. Canucks fans should make up their mind about goaltending, its either goalie controversies or lack of goaltending. This team's goaltending has been fine since 2006 and has never been a problem. In fact, if it wasn't due to great goaltending this year, we would've been last in the overall standings.

It will make this franchise such a joke if we traded Lack too, not like it hasn't been a joke recently. It would look so stupid when we trade Lack, Schneider and Luongo who are all great goalies and start looking at other goalies who were not signed by other teams. canuktravella
We have lack signed for 2yrs at 1.15 mill dirty cheap hes played well all yr and our lack of scoring is reason his numbers arent even better. If markstrom can be a decent backup sweet if not bring in a decent backup at 2.0 mill and use the rest of the money for a top six forward
canuktravella
Thing is lacks numbers are almost as good as schneiders even on wins loses pretty much. But schneider make 4 mill where as lack makes 1.15 next 2 yrs plus 800k of luos contract and markstoms 1.2 salary 3.2mill total goalie tending cost is probably the best bang for your buck in the nhl. Now if booth is boughtout or traded fir a pick and hansen is traded with one dman we can sign 2 really nice free agents and play 2-3 rookies with tons of space to upgrade for future
Heretic
Why would we do that? We just went through the "It's a process" and dealt away 2 goalies.
Me_
Markstrom will win the Vezina next year. Is that before or after the fans throw Lack under the bus?

He's playing great hockey. He's been fixed by the Canucks. Give him his last year and re-sign him according to his year next year. BOOTH - RICHARDSON - KASSIAN or if he's not back, Tortorella does have a plan B which isn't too shabby either: MATTHIAS - RICHARDSON - KASSIAN The 3rd line, for once, is the least of our concern for next year, unless they continue to play unreal, which then would mean we have a complete second line, and Kealer doesn't fit any longer. Question is, do the Canucks risk pissing off everyone by keeping Kesler as he unhealthily bullies the boys for his ice time and risk loosing Kassian to a trade or something asinine like that, or do they trade Kesler. brooker
I don't think we do because I think Markstrom is going to be a bonafied number 1. But, if he do sign someone I would be down for Jaraslov Halak. Solid goalie who never quite gets enough credit for his work but he might command a healthy price. The kicker is Halak and our goaltender coach (Rollie Melanson) worked together in Montreal all those years ago.

Dragonfruits
Basically a 2 on 0 with AHLex doing his best impersonation of a pylon. it's really pathetic you will go into pretty much every single thread and bash Edler when the topic has nothing to do with him and if you ever did take off your blinders you would notice he has been playing great the last 10 games but wouldn't expect anything less from you
