mon visage quand
TOR: Tanev Sestito VAN; Gardiner Fills needs on both sides. TOR gets better defensively, VAN gets offense from the back end. Potential Vatanen. THOUGHTS?
CanuckMan10
Tanev is good but not enough value to pry Gardiner. Tostito means virtually nothing.
shiznak
Much rather have Franson at a cheaper price. B level prospects (Gaunce, Jensen, Corrado), and conditional pick.
Warhippy
I don't think anyone in Toronto right now is untouchable except for those with massive contracts and maybe Reilly

missioncanucksfan
Go cheer for toronto then.... What is so special about Gardiner anyway? Definately not worth Tanev
Phil_314
Go cheer for toronto then.... What is so special about Gardiner anyway? Definitely not worth Tanev He's overrated. Jake can put up around 30 points a season but he's weak on defense (-9 already). I'd rather keep Chris who's becoming our own, non-Swedish, right-handed Gunnarsson who's playing well with Eddie, and we can probably get Jake for other guys, but I'd rather not move Chris. Who knows maybe the Leafs will get desperate enough for defensive defensemen to sell low on him later on?
Pimp C
Wow this is terrible for the Canucks, Gardiner is complete trash. Not even close to as good as Tanev. He's been a healthy scratch on one of the worst defenses in the league. Gardiner is terrible defensively, soft as a baby's ass, and as dumb as a bag of bricks. Nonis should be fired on the spot for giving him a 4 million dollar contract.

Potential Vatanen. THOUGHTS? LOL Leaf fan here: Not a chance Gardiner has been bad this year, granted, but the Leafs wouldn't take on Seisto (two enforcers have been sent to the minors already this year), and Tanev is a solid player, but for Gardiner, no thanks. Gardiner is struggling right now, but I can't see the Leafs giving up on him that easily. Although a change of scenery might be best for the guy. Much rather have Franson at a cheaper price. B level prospects (Gaunce, Jensen, Corrado), and conditional pick. You would need to do better then that for Franson at this point. In the summer when they were in a contract dispute maybe, but his point totals alone add a, perhaps unjust, value.

No interest in acquiring either of Gardinder or Franson, both of them are garbage.
CaNuCkSLoUiE23
Tanev is as valuable as Gardiner right now. No way Tanev's going anywhere.
Pimp C
Tanev is as valuable as Gardiner right now. No way Tanev's going anywhere. Tanev is much more valuable than Gardiner. That is not debatable. Gardiner was a healthy scratch on the worst defense in the league. Tanev is one of the main reasons why we've gotten off to our current start, matching up against other teams top lines this year. and last year as well)
Virtanen93
Tanev has been our best Dman this year. No thanks. Maybe Gaunce, 4th for Franson
Monteeun
If we're going after a defencemen, we might as well sign someone rather then thru trade.
VegasCanuck
We could use another defenseman, but trading away someone as good as Tanev for, really no increase, doesn't make sense. We have excess prospects on forward, if we are going after a good young (22 - 24 yr old) defense, trade has to come from forward prospects, nowhere else! apollo
No freaking way... No way. No way. Tanev is proven and rock steady. I've been following gardiner because I made the dreadful mistake of picking him in one of my fantasy leagues. He's terrible, watching him play is like watching Eric Weinrich
