Bert Diesel
I hope this thread hasn't already been created somewhere but since the #7 overall pick has been discussed to death in the other thread i'm interested to hear what people think the targets for the #37 overall pick should be. I've compiled a draft list based on reading various scouting reports and lists of rankings. I've based the rankings Bob Mckenzie, Craig Button, Corey Pronman from the Athletic and Canucks Army. The sources I trust more I have weighted a little bit more heavily. I've also included height, position and combine top 10 results. Based on the information we have our disposal, I'm thinking that the Canucks most likely targets at 37 will be a defenseman. A lot depends on who drops into the 2nd round obviously and there are too many variables to know anything for certain. I'm going to narrow it down to top 10 choices for defenceman and for forwards in the event Benning gambles on a forward who dropped (like Tolvanen last year). Overall, I think it makes more sense for them to shore up the prospect depth on defence as will certainly be many solid D men available where they are picking. I'm even for them grabbing Wahlstrom with the first pick and picking more for need in the other rounds. They cannot afford to mess up #7. Defence targets for 37: (in no particular order) (I would include K'andre Miller and Ryan Merkely but they will likely be gone) 1 Alexander Alexeyev 2. Jared Mcissac 3. Jonny Tychonick 4.Jacob Bernard Docker (great combine results) 5. Rasmus Sandin 6. Calen Addison 7. Nils Lundkvist 8. Mattias Samuelson 9. Jett Woo 10. Nicholas Beaudin Not having seen these players play but going on stats and combine results I would choose between Docker, Tychonick and Lundkvist. Forwards: 1. Jacob Olofsson 2. Martin Kaut 3. Jack McBain 4. Ty Dellandrea 5. Jake Wise 6. Liam Foudy (insane combine results) 7. Filip Hallander 8. John Gruden 9. Jessie Ylonen 10. Benoit Olivier-Groulx (the three that intrigue me the most here are Mcbain, Foudy and Dellandrea) Here's my draft list i've been compiling: 1. Rasmus Dahlin D 6”2 Sweden (top 10 V02 duration) 2. J.I.A.H.N
Great job on the list! I am kind of hoping it is a defenseman, but in saying that my list has forwards as well # 37 Jett Woo Adam Ginning Jake Wise Jacob Olofsson Alexander Alexeyev If we were to get any of these, I would be pretty happy! SID.IS.SID.ME.IS.ME
I’ve been on the Filip Hållander hype train for a while and still believe, should he still be on the board at #37, he’d be a great pick for us. But there are plenty of guy I’d like at #37, probably too many to mention. Hållander’s just been my 2nd round target for so long, so I see no reason to change now. Plus I like the idea of another Timrå connection. Seems like those have worked out fairly well for us. By the way, Hållander is closer to 6’2” than 5’11” (as listed in the OP’s #42). His recent combine measurements were 6’1.75” and 188.38 lbs.

YEGCanuck
Thought there are now 31 teams in the league, therefore wouldn't that mean our second round pick comes in at 38th?
gobi
The lottery ranking is only for the first round. Afterwards, it goes back to the league standing. The Canucks is actually ranked 6th in the draft order.
