Good bye Sedin Twins:

A new ERA will begin in Montreal, as the Montreal Canadiens will have fresh faces on the team on opening night. This offseason Canadiens needed a much needed face lift to put them over the edge for the upcoming season and they did the unthinkable, they traded the Sedin twins to Atlanta in exchange for Pavel Datsyuk and Alexander Radulov. This was definitely a hard decision to make for the organization as the Canadiens thought they (Sedins) would be franchise players for the remainder of their careers here in Montreal, but having two disappointed back to back first round losses in the playoffs, it was time for a change. Montreal will now go a different direction as they are going to revamp the entire bottom 6 and forward group. Canadiens are now going into a more speed and skill approach, as well as adding some young guns on to the roster. The Montreal Canadiens would like to thank the Sedin Twins for their time in Montreal and making this team a better culture to play in. We would also like to thank Henrik Sedin of mentoring Travis Zajac, who now has become a 60 point player. Sedin Twins will be heavily missed, but it was time we need to right the ship, sadly it had to start with the Sedins. Montreal Canadiens wish the best of luck to the Sedins in Atlanta.

Could Datsyuk and Radulov put the team over the edge ?

Detroit Red Wings: Pavel Datsyuk eyeing NHL returnAlexander Radulov returns to lineup for Canadiens against Oilers ...

Could Pavel Datsyuk and Alexander Radulov put Montreal Canadiens over the edge? Well Montreal Canadiens organization looks to hope so. They will go in a different approach in terms of skill and speed. The addition of these two amazing Elite Russian superstars who recently won a cup, will look to put the team on their shoulders and bring a cup to Montreal. With Datsyuk still in his prime and no signs of slowing down and a young offensively gifted winger in Alexander Radulov, who has just entered his prime, these two could be a force, likely what Canadiens needed. With Datsyuk and his amazing two way playing ability and play-making ability we could see something special. Montreal Canadiens also acquired Pascal Dupuis via trade from Phoenix. Adding Dupuis to the lineup gives Montreal some options upfront as Dupuis is a good forechecking scoring winger. Dupuis right now could be a good fit on the top line with Pavel Datsyuk and Alexander Radulov. Montreal likely going to see how Pascal Dupuis does with an elite center in Datsyuk, just like IRL Pittsburgh Penguins did with putting Dupuis and Crosby together, in which Dupuis succeeded. Montreal Canadien cannot wait to get the brand new season underway.

Whats next?

Whats next for the Montreal Canadiens? Well, Montreal will be waiting till the draft is over and focus on Free Agency. Montreal would like to add one more top 4 defencemen to their roster, but rumours are swirling they have already acquired one and just waiting for draft to finish and announce the trade. The Montreal Canadiens look to be just adding some pieces to the bottom 6 in Free Agency and will likely start the season with a lot of new faces, as well as some returning faces. Right now, Canadiens will take it day by day with their roster and tinker it if they need too.

Former players, CTV's W5 petition court to unseal secret NHL ...

Jonathan Sim Hockey Stats and Profile at hockeydb.com:goat:

Jon Sim was seen leaving the Joe Louis Arena with his suitcases packed... and absolute disgust on his face.

It is believed that GM Apollo, Jon's agent, and the ICON himself had agreed to a deal. Only to be vetoed by the Old Boys Club who were forcing The ICON out of Detroit?!

STAY TUNED... will the ICON remain a Redwing!?! Elliotte is reporting that GM Apollo has sent his finest lawyers to the league offices in order to fight for Jon.

When we reached out to GM Apollo he responded with "I'm gonna make it short. We are doing everything in our power to make this deal go through. Jon is an integral part of our team and we see him as one of the best bottom 6 forwards in the game. He'll play for us. He'll play on crutches if he has to!"
