[Report] Eriksson “NOT” likely to be moved on
JeremyCuddles replied to Provost's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Correct me if I am wrong but Higgins had some injuries derail his career. Eriksson’s production just fell off a cliff. -
[Waivers] Michael Stone (Buyout)
JeremyCuddles replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
The top 4 RD supply is still low. Even if you added 100 Shattenkirks into Free agency. If anybody said to Buffalo "lower your price, or we'll get Michael Stone" they'll just laugh in your face and say "go ahead". -
[Waivers] Michael Stone (Buyout)

Not sure how a depth guy on the market would decrease the value of a top 4 d-man. Lol. -
[Report] Eriksson “NOT” likely to be moved on
JeremyCuddles replied to Provost's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
He was a healthy scratch last season anyway, but yeah. Didn’t realize the buyout wouldn’t have mattered. -

I’m actually surprised Boston didn’t just buyout Backes. They probably do it next Summer. -
[Signing] Devils re-sign Will Butcher
JeremyCuddles replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
People keep saying this. But we see bridge contracts all the time. We just don’t see it with star kids anymore. -
[Buyout] Rangers buy out Kevin Shattenkirk
JeremyCuddles replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
If only we could buyout Myers. Shattenkirk will be cheaper -
[Buyout] Rangers buy out Kevin Shattenkirk

Didn’t even realize you could buy someone out at this point in the offseason. -
[Signing] Avalanche re-sign Samuel Girard
JeremyCuddles replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
I’d say he’s just as ready as Hughes, and some around here think he’s good for 60+ points. Lol. -
Chris Higgins to join Canucks in player development role
JeremyCuddles replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Canucks Talk
"Jumped about a foot in the air" is a pretty gross overstatement. Lol. His left leg barely left the ice. Looked like he tried to jump last second to avoid him. Not sure why Chara was so far up the ice right there honestly. It's pretty normal for players to cut across the blueline there for speed into the opponents zone especially when his teammate was crossing to his side of the ice, this was near the center line. You can see from the replay that his D partner was a bit further behind him too. In a smarter defensive position. -
It's hard to not want Ferland to fit with Petey and Boeser on the physical aspect alone. Also, I think we shouldn't sleep on a healthy Baertschi fitting in there. Good two way guy. Personally, I really hope Ferland fits in with them. Don't really want him on the 2nd line, since they'll likely be getting 40% ozone starts, the 60-70% ozone starts with Petey will be better for him. Pearson/Baer Horvat and Miller will be a really good two way line imo. Miller has some playmaking prowess that'll go well with the Horvat and one of Baer or Pearson. None of which are prominent playmakers.

Podkolzin, I think he has elite potential. I love me some Demko but I think Podkolzin will be the better player overall, it is quite close though. Could go either way. Part of me doesn't even consider Demko a prospect, but I didn't realize he hasn't really played a lot at the NHL level yet. Lol. This one is a toss up.

[Signing] Devils re-sign Nikita Gusev
JeremyCuddles replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Yes. The 27 year old winger and career KHLer is easily comparable to established center/winger Miller. -
Chris Higgins to join Canucks in player development role
JeremyCuddles replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Canucks Talk
Love me some Higgins but bring in Bert. Introduce him to Jake and Gadjovich. -
The Canucks Record when you are in the building
JeremyCuddles replied to ruilin96's topic in Canucks Talk
0-1-0-1 record with me in the house, only been to two games in my life. First was a 4-4 tie against LA. 2nd was against San Jose. Linden turned the puck over late and it ended up in the net. So yeah. It’s been a while for me and not in Van’s favour. Lol. -
Hard to throw Tanev and Sutter in there, even Baer. Their seasons wouldn't be considered bad if they were healthy. They are effective when in the lineup, they just had some very bad injury luck. I already voted but I'd probably swap my vote to Schaller (Other). I was pretty high on him when he was signed. He's a good bottom 6, mostly 4th line guy, but for whatever reason struggled mightily last season. Other than him we don't have too many players that underperformed last year and need a bounce back, those that did are gone already. Eriksson and Schaller underperformed, most everybody else that struggled was played in positions they weren't fit for. (PS not a shot at Green, just saying we lacked high end talent on the roster last season and injuries forced players into spots they weren't fit for.)

PP and PK - Thoughts on who fits where
JeremyCuddles replied to Silver Ghost's topic in Canucks Talk
PP was at it’s best when Baer was healthy. After he went down PP struggled. But, I imagine it doesn’t matter. Trolls gonna troll. -
[Discussion] Goalie package solution available?
JeremyCuddles replied to Glug Datt's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
Or, just let Seattle take whatever goalie we don’t protect. If they choose that route. We’re gonna lose someone regardless. No point trading Marky, cause Seattle will just take somebody else then we’re down two assets instead of one. Besides, the ED is like two years away. Any number of things can happen between now and then. -
Never been a fan of comparing players to their draft peers. Since they don't get to choose where they are drafted or who they are drafted to. So their development should not be effected or influenced by the development of their peers. All you guys are doing is bumming yourself out and putting unnecessary pressure on the kids we draft.

People dissing Quick as if he has been bad for years. Eriksson has been pretty close to terrible for 3 seasons. Quick has had one rough season. Same people that probably think Markstrom is an elite level goalie cause he was good for half a season.

Local boys Virtanen or Stecher. -
[Report] Eriksson “NOT” likely to be moved on
JeremyCuddles replied to Provost's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
I think it’s impossible to sign a contract that’d require recapture penalty now. It was literally a rule put in to retroactively punish deals signed under the last CBA. Which is complete BS and may as well have been called the “f*** Vancouver rule”. -
Canucks extend affiliation agreement with Kalamazoo Wings
JeremyCuddles replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Canucks Talk
Would rather send him to the Marlies like we did Gagner. At least there he is away from the kids. -
Could make the argument for Okposo over Eriksson. Okposo had back to back 40 point seasons prior to last season, has more points in his first 2 seasons with Buffalo than Eriksson has in his 3 years here. He's 31, Eriksson is 34. Downside being he has 4 years left and Eriksson has 3. Both ugly contracts but it's pretty close imo. At least at some point Okposo had done some good on his team as far as point production. Eriksson has largely been invisible.

Already a year older and ain't even touched the ice for us. Darn you Benning, darn you. Happy Birthday Jordie.
