“There are good days and bad days" M. Ferland. Man, health comes first. Don't even think about playing before you had about 100 good days in a row - in consideration of your history. Really.

[PTO] Travis Hamonic with Canucks
the harry replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Given the special schedule this season I think that is it smart having more than the usuall 7 or 8 D's. There are a lot of games in very few days, injuries are likely unavoidable. -
A fourth line with Beagle and R(o)ussel(l) and the DJ always playing this song when there out on the ice:

[Signing] Flames Sign Josh Leivo
the harry replied to Millerdraft's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Well, Benning said very early, that resigning Marky had priority. So Tanev, Stecher and Leivo all knew that was time for a change. Or at least their agents. -
[Signing] Flames Sign Josh Leivo
the harry replied to Millerdraft's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
I wonder if this means that Baertschi will be back because Leivo was Baertschis replacement when he suffered the concussion. -
Play him and Gaudette with a LW with playmaking skills and watch their stats go up. Baertschi - Gaudette - Virtanen.
-
Stecher had 2 GWG and by far the best +/- this playoff, why the hell want some people get rid of him? I know, we could use bigger D men, but before I would let him walk, I would give him a chance to show if he can play as a winger. Reallly.

[Discussion] ditching Eriksson plus others
the harry replied to Provost's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
Nino is a good player, but he's losing a bit explosiveness when he has more than 16/17' average playing time. If he's used like this, he is producing well; if he has to play 20 minutes or more every night, then not. But in play off games he always plays good, when it really matters he's on fire. -
[Discussion] Shedding Cap Space
the harry replied to Daniel+Henrik2237's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
You're right. You have to add money or picks. The real question is, is this the right time to invest in a massiv cup run for the Canucks or should they better wait another few years. -
[Discussion] ditching Eriksson plus others
the harry replied to Provost's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
It is corona time, with a low cap and almost all teams looking to reduce costs. No way they take high paid non performing players from other teams. All I could imagine are some one for one deals, like a Erikkson - P.K. Subban swap. NJ needs wingers and we need a big D. Edit: Or Erikkson+Baertschi (and the usuall second) for P.K. Subban. -
Yes, true, but both Toffoli and Pearson looked quite slow in the Vegas series, so, why not. And don't forget that Miller can play RW too and like this Baertschi could be a stopgap in the top 6 until Podkolzin arrives in April.

[Proposal] Let us look at the next year, honestly.
the harry replied to J.I.A.H.N's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
I do really agree with almost everything. But I like Stecher, he had by far the best +/- this playoff and plays bigger than his size. And I would love to see Hall play wth Bo and watch them attack together. -
Top six: A bit faster and a few more goals: Let Pearsson and Toffoli go, they are to slow; sign Hall and call back Baertschi (wrong side, I know, but we pay him anyway) as a stopgap until Podkolzin arrives in April. Bottom six: Keep the kids, Motte, Gaudette, Macewen, Virtanen. And Beagle. Replace Sutter, Erikkson and Roussel with just one but really good vet who has size, grit and speed. D: Let Benn walk and Tanev, if he wants. Keep the rest, including Stecher and Juolevi. Promote one or two kids. Send a crazy good offer for Roman Josi to Nashville. G: Keep em both. In: Hall, Josi and 1 Vet Out: Toffoli, Pearsson, Sutter, Roussel, Erikkson, Ferland, Benn, Tanev

Is the season a success no matter what else happens?

different? yes, maybe. worse? I don't know. 5 on 5 the offensive production lacks but he is very reliable defensively. Meanwhile his power play game looks better. He runs it very well in Utica and didn't he set up 2 of Gaudette pp goals during his short stint in Vancouver, too?

[PGT] Vancouver Canucks at Pittsburgh Penguins | Nov. 27, 2019

It doesn't look really better after sending Baertschi down. They were missing Svens backchecking tonight badly. -
[GDT] Canucks VS Rangers, October 20, 2019 -- B2B, Tail-end edition
the harry replied to therodigy's topic in Canucks Talk
Hmm, I can't say why, but I think that Pettersson with Boeser is not a perfect combo. I would like to see Sutter with Petey and reunite Baer-Bo-Boeser. I remember Sutter playing well as RW with the Sedins. Miller-Pettersson-Sutter Baertschi-Horvat-Boeser Pearson-Gaudette-Virtanen Ferland-Beagle-Motte -

Well, Baertschi plays LW and has playmaking skills and scores goals, too. -
[GDT] Vancouver Canucks vs. Edmonton Oilers, Oct 2, 2019, 7 PM
the harry replied to KyoNami's topic in Canucks Talk
Canucks win 7 to 2. This effort is for the Captain. That will be a season for the Canucks like the one Carolina had last year. -
To be honest, I don't think that Baertschi had a fair chance to make the team this camp. The decision was made long before, Benning said, he tried to move him during the summer. I think they will miss his skills on the second line, especially Bo.
