But anyways, I disagree. Don't blame Kesler for utilizing his NTC. It's Mike Gillis who should be blamed for giving him (and others) the NTC(s) in the first place.

There's having a heart, and then there's having a brain. Kesler gave his heart to this team. That's why he used his brain to realize it was time to move on. 

Kesler is one of the greatest Canucks of all-time. He is tied with Daniel Sedin for 9th overall for most goals in a season. He is the epitome of a two-way centre.

Besides, there's no way we were going to give him nearly 7 million a year for his new extension.

20 years of age. This homeboy is still cooking. When he's cooked, he will be on fire. By that I mean he will score 30+ in his real first season. The way WD utilized him didn't help. But he needs to decide if he's going ready to become a man. One must mature at the athletic level to really progress. You can tell he knows how to play aka his skill, but he needs to just focus on working his ass off until he proves everyone wrong.

IMO Gaunce has some power forward potential. I mean he pretty much was leading Comets forwards in points last season.

Maybe he could use some more AHL seasoning? But he's defensively responsible enough for his role so I don't see a real issue.
