  1. Pettersson’s skating is just as great as Chiasson. Nothing to worry about.
  2. His lack of professionalism is alarming. Young players have to get stronger and faster in the off seasons. The Sedins are prime examples of how hard work and disciplined training will make you stronger and fast enough to generate separation. Horvat proved that skating can be improved. Pettersson is a talented lazy bum.
  3. You have to be objective, the defence pairs for the most part played well enough to win. Somehow the D men are not tuning out the coach. Our goalies are good. Defence is decent. Bottom 6 forwards are working their butts off. It’s some of the top 6 forwards that are $&!#ting their pants.

  5. He is a lazy bum who wasted the off season. Bad timing, bad hands and bad luck are all forgivable. But this guy did not bother to get a bit quicker on his skates and little stronger. WTF did he do this summer? This is very unprofessional.
  6. Recall how quite a few fans wanted Pettersson to be the captain?
  7. Boeser missed a lot of chances but he is getting to the front of the net and getting prime scoring chances. His skating is also good. I hope his hands come back soon
  8. At least Boeser is playing hard and can skate and getting scoring chances. WTF did Pettersson do this summer? He is at least one step slower and 20 pounds lighter. Useless. He should be sent to AHL for conditioning like Tryamkin.
  9. Logically the purpose of the coverup was to ensure that the Chicago players did not know about the incident and focus on the the Cup Finals. If the players knew about the incident at the time of the Cup Finals, it would have been pointless to cover it up.
  10. That is how Travis Green perceived Pettersson's game, weak and slow, so he tried Pettersson with 2 bigger guys, one of which can actually skate.
  11. But is this the right time? Who is available? Why were these guys fired and out of a job? Are they going to wreck the team even more? Are they going to ask Pettersson to block shots and play Horvat 25 minutes a game?
  12. It wasn't that bad. It was not like Florida or Tampa scoring goals against the Canucks at will. Minnesota was the better team but Fiala and Kaprizov were checked effectively.
  13. Hiring a new coach may not turn the ship around right away. Look how long it took Dave Tippett in Edmonton. His hair grayed a lot in Edmonton.
  14. Hoglander can't shoot nor pass. Works hard though like Kailer Yamamoto.
  15. Missing games explains the lack of hands and timing. They will come back in time. The problem with Pettersson is his lack of speed and size. Both of which should have improved in the summer. None of which did. No physical improvement since his rookie season. i follow the Oilers. I told my Oilers friends that while Pettersson is not generational his drive to improve is. Boy was I wrong.
  16. Don't be so sure. Maybe Cooper will get fired this season after all
  17. Very level headed take. I like Green too. I am not sure how a new coach is going to change the fact that Pettersson is slow and weak on the ice though. Then again, it was Green's job to ensure that Pettersson put the work in during summer.
  18. How did Horvat and Garland score goals then? By miracle or work of God? There is zero excuse that Pettersson stopped developing since his rookie season. Horvat took major steps in his game because he was not known to be a good skater. Joe Erikson Ex had the same problem and he took another step in Minnesota. Garland had to work harder than guys taller and heavier than him. Think back on the Sedins, They had to work their butt off to get bigger and stronger along the boards and improve their skating just enough to generate separation. Their stamina improved greatly so they could handle long shifts. Many fans thought Pettersson had the drive to improve physically, to get bigger, stronger and faster. So far, they are not proven right.
  19. The problem is that most mechanics out there are having short lived tenure as well. I don't even know if the right mechanic is available for hiring. Maybe the one we have is the best we can hope for for now.
  20. This team is like an unreliable 12 cylinder engine. You know that if all cylinders are firing it is a force to be reckoned with. However most of time it is cruising on 4 to 8 cylinders depending on road conditions and the weather. The mechanic is trying to fix the car constantly. His hair is graying and many people want him fired
  21. Most NHL coaches get fired, including hall of famers and future hall of famers.
  22. A lot of teams are having this problem or had this problem. Like Kyle Dubas, you may just have to sit around and wait and hope for the best. Florida figured it out by having a major retooling. Winnipeg is having the same issue year after year. No one thought that the 2011 Canucks was going the distance because they had the same issues. No one knows. It sometimes come down to how patient the ownership is and whether they force the G.M. to make changes. Heck, maybe Pettersson will skate better and don't fall as much 10 games form now. He won't have to dump the puck all the time for Boeser and Miller to fetch.
