  1. I just want us to have a green jersey, something like what Utica has. If not then the Johnny Canuck one there.
  2. We are a looooooong way of being able to play a greasy gritty game like this deep in the playoffs. This is some first round physicality in the freakin finals!
  3. So strange to see that Binnington played for the Providence Bruins for 28 games last year. Blues had no room for him so they loaned him to the bruins farm hand.
  4. The same league that took out the two line pass and now everyone is faster for it. ONE BIG LINE and your good bro!
  5. Looks like fans in Seattle want green in their colours, I am not surprised and would welcome them to have Kelly Green as their primary colour I’m not a fan of the black and red so far that they have during this pre branding stage (way too many teams have red and black already). And LOL at the “whatever eats Canucks” answer to the team name http://news.sportslogos.net/2019/05/26/seattle-nhl-team-polls-fans-on-potential-names-colours/
  6. And the opposition won’t know where the hell they are anymore without the Vancouver on it as well.
  7. Gillis traded Raffael Diaz for a 2015 5th rounder which then in 2015 Benning picked AG88. So it was Gillis who acquired the pick and Benning that used it, and used it well. Hobey Baker winner to boot!
  8. Good for Nilssy as he did his part here being a backup for us. Got us a 6th and Philly one of many goalies that the Flyers hoarded last year. All the best to Anders.
  9. You can find that all teams that missed on good players, not all of them are going to hit. Would I have liked JV and OJ to be impact players? Of course but I sure as hell would rather have Jake playing in the NHL then picking someone like Sonny Milano, Ho-Sang or a Del Colle. There can always be better choices but there certainly be worse and it’s easy as fans to always pick apart the picks. I’d rather have meh drafted players then don’t make the show at all. Jim has drafted a hell of a lot more players that are on the team playing then Mike ever did and that can’t be disputed. Again two different timelines for the teams goals but I get tired of people questioning the drafting of this team. Not every player drafted will be an all star. Also if you want to grasp straws with missed picks we drafted Boeser at 23rd (the last time we made the playoffs we also got our top line trigger man). That and we drafted the best player in the 2017 draft. You win some and you lose some, not every pick is going to be a home run. That can be said for every team.
  10. Perhaps the third jersey will be a green jersey. We can only hope! Hell even Utica has a green third.
  11. Thatcher Demko MDP Breis Jet Woo Tyler Madden Kole Lind Gadget Forsling (traded but made the bigs with the Blackhawks) Jack Rathebone and many more that I’m forgetting that have great potential of being NHLers. Jake is a good player that has a purpose on this team and it doesn’t always mean to score goals. OJ is behind on his development but to cast him out already would be a mistake. Will all of them make it, no but it’s a lot heftier cupboard then just a Hutton,Gaunce and Horvat (MGs best pick of his tenure). I think that MG did a lot of good things for this team when he was here, however drafting was certainly not one of them. Benning on the other hand has had mixed results with trades and free agent signings but his drafting has been the best this team has had in a very long time if not ever. Gillis was a master at getting the best of the players when it came to diet, sleep and schedule. He helped change the locker room into what it is today as other teams have copied the layout of the locker room. Anyhow all I’m saying is there are strengths and weaknesses to every GM and these two were good in different areas. But to say MG was a good drafter is offside IMO. (I will also say that the team was on different terms, MG was contending and Benning is rebuilding. So of course Benning will get some easy picks with drafting so high but nothing in life is guaranteed and that goes with top picks) P.S. your handle reminds me of what Botch used to say. RIP
  12. Hey there big fish, you’re quite the catch. You wanna be swayed to play with the Petey-Prodigy? I see your goosebumps showing Erik, come to westcoast Stockholm where the Swedes thrive... except maybe that Louie guy but he does those little things.
  13. I was a little sad to see us not keep Brassard but Rodrigo wasn’t ever a player I thought would make it. As @Dazzle said, I wanted us to take the home town Ronning with (one of two 7ths that year) our last pick. Panthers clearly see something in him, along with that Curtis Valk fellow.
  14. You didn’t like his bounce back season? Ok sure if it was only a one off I agree with meh but his dancing is so dreamy...
  15. This is true and I agree completely, that said if I’m in the Edler camp I want to have a guarantee to stay in Vancouver. While Seattle likely won’t pick a 35 year old defenseman with one year left on his deal like you already said above. It doesn’t save him completely to stay with the team. Edler has clearly wanted the NTC in his last deal and I’m sure that if we are seeking to give him 3 years he would want a NMC. That’s why the two year deal makes the most sense as it compromises Edler being protected by expiring contract just weeks after the Seattle ED and it saves us a protected roster spot. Win win for both, I just hope cooler heads prevail because it just makes perfect sense for both sides. I also get that Edler probably wants this to be his last contract unfortunately expansion draft throws a wrench into the term of the deal, but certainly can get another 1-2 year deal after the expansion draft.
  16. I have said for awhile now that the only contract that makes sense for the good of the “team” and its assets is a two year deal that expires in the summer of 2021. Seattle won’t try and sign a pending UFA who has been vocal about staying in Vancouver. So Edler doesn’t require a protected spot and we wouldn’t lose a Stetcher, OJ, Hutton. If Eagle can’t settle on two years and has a problem with the term yet says he wants to stay here, if I’m Jim I’m saying too bad so sad. And at that point he’s going to be 35-36 years old so one year deals would be ideal going forward.
  17. Is it any surprise the refs were the cause of another result of incompetent refereeing? This is the same league and refs that allowed a skate in the crease cup winning goal back in 1999. This has become part of the leagues heritage. The NHL would like us to accept it and embrace it. They must all be on crack...
  18. The schedule this year for the playoffs has been nicely paced. A good change from the dragging out schedule of the years past. Good back and forth goals in the first. I’m cheering for the team that will take out Boston or Lina.
  19. He did his job well, when he wrote articles people would listen whether it was good or bad. He got peoples attention and sometimes got this forum all wild up with his bad cop way of journalism. While I most often wouldn’t agree with his work, he did it very well. On a personal note it’s too young to leave family at 48 and I don’t wish this one on anyone. You only have one shot and one life, so when you hear stuff like this it’s humbling for sure. Makes you take a step back and makes you appreciate life more because death can take it away at any moment. RIP Botchman, and all the best going forward to your wife and kids without you in their life.
  20. I think you might be onto something
  21. I was told by a Canucks rep that season ticket holders will get the pre sale tickets as early as next week. I would assume that tickets for the public wouldn’t be too long after that.
  22. Is it wrong for me to say Hardhome and Battle of the Bastards did a better job of capturing the feel of an epic battle. I will rewatch it tonight but I thought most of the battle was too dark, murky and blurry. Still was an epic episode but there certainly was more left to be desired.
  23. And yet we hear nothing from the ownership and leadership group of this franchise. Complete and utter joke. “Our All. Our Honor” slogan is comical.
  24. Great catch and good point! They seemed very sad to hear what happened to Eddy (Ed Sheeran’s character) while not really caring much about what Bron did to a dragon. So it’s all making plenty of sense now.
  25. I will say that I agree with some on here that the two episodes have been a bit of filler of dialogue (that’s HBO material, and not the books for you) that it’s exactly what the viewer wants for payoff. Sure there will be ties to some loose ends and final conversation before character deaths mount up next episode but here are a few things I wished they would’ve gone with instead of Breannas knighting or the power ladies chat that resolved nothing from it. How about Podrick explaining about his magic...sword at the brothel. Rather then singing a song. What about that undelivered joke that Tyrion keeps bringing up but never able to finish. (I once brought a honeycomb and a jackass into a brothel-") I also would’ve loved to see a scene where the Reeds made it to winter fell and that Howland Reed being the last living witness that can truthfully claim that Jon is the rightful king of the seven kingdoms. Well we got to see Ghost. But looked more like they added him into the scene after it was shot since there was zero interaction with Jon and Ghost. Arya scene was like being a dad (without being a dad) but having that uncomfortable feeling of seeing one of the children of the show growing up before our eyes. So I agree with the posters on here who have said the first two episodes have been hyped up. But next episode will kick mine and every other critics ass from these comments. Everything else was was pretty good especially the giants story.
