One series and they where in van how long? Ha sorry I really don't like the Sedins ha well petey has already shown push back in tight checking games and I love that......I'm not saying he has to fight but be like Crosby ......he gets even with stick work.... your right though we will only go as far as our gamers take us , Hughes and petey have shown pretty good so far and Miller is just a beast ha then add in Jake coming by along and bo and Pearson and TT and our top six looks good and tough but we still lack toughness , we need a guy that can fight and piss off the other team and it wouldn't hurt us if his in the box, look at reeves and E Kane......they fight and Knights win that trade off imho. also that's something we haven't had in some time.....

The whole time the Sedins were in Van , they never had a kesler beast like moment..... just like the leafs now, we were built on soft skill..with guys like kesler picking up the slack......gillis tried to buck the odds when he should have traded the Sedins..... but it was worth a try and it didn't work.....

The playoffs are just like hockey in early and mid 2000's and the Sedins didn't do much during that time..... im sorry but I can't remember any playoffs where the Sedins feasted on anyone.......they feasted during the regular season and the playoffs were never the Sedins friend ha they did play good against the Sharks but compare the Sedins to Toews and Kane and they don't stack up......see where I'm going with that?..... im sorry the Sedins were over rated and imho weren't true leaders......hank calling out Jake for a late hit could , you imagine what they said about Torres hit or kesler just being kes...... the Sedins played good against slower teams or teams that didn't take the body ......we built a team like the leafs before they did ha

Not to mention his leadership. When I heard JT has been taking Jake under his wing , that made the deal so much more valuable for us.

Seeing Jake smirk while mixing things up with reeves was a highlight of this season for me ha that just makes me feel warm and cuddly in side ha

Okay linden and bure I remember roughly but during that time those guys were spread out threw the top 3 lines and we have never been able to put together an elite top six like other cup teams have had.... also those top sixs were filled with guys like kesler and burr .....those are the type of guys you need, if you want to win a cup. Having a solid top six is nice and all but elite top six is how you win cups and guys like VP and Lind will be perfect and are the type of players we need in the playoffs....we don't need a skilled top six , we need a mean top six.

IMHO Jim is the only GM I've seen build an actual top six..... Higgins and booth were third liners on most up contenders..... we may have a lot of the pieces the 2011 team had but we still lack toughness And a legit number one pairing, Hughes has shown he can play like a number one but needs help on the D side of things. i think petey and Hughes will drag a cup back here if they have too. Also Hughes has shown he can be feisty and I love that and Thuggy bear should be encouraged to play that way. Imho in the playoffs, we would be lucky to make it out of the first round......as the teams sits now....

I didn't mind Nazzy cause Bert was there to make up for nazzy's lack of toughness but I agree with yea..... I think petey should be captain once his ready cause his already showed push back...so has Hughes.... Or Miller cause he reminds me of iggy. I agree Bo is turning into a clone of hank and funny thing is since we made nice guys our captain , we have a problem beating weaker teams and we lack that killer instinct.... i think we will be like the Kings , they took Browns C away and gave it to kopitar.....I see us doing the same thing with bo and petey......

Well they played that way their whole career , it wasn't until the rule changes came in , that they became star players , only problem with that is the Sedins have never been great players when the reffs don't protect them..... I remember after losing to the Kings the following year wanting the Sedins gone and let guys like kesler and juice lead the news guys...... like another poster mentioned juice had big moments and so did kesler but the Sedins never did..... Unless it was during regular season or a shift.....

I wish we had bure and linden instead of the Sedins on that 2011 team.... picturing bure taking care of chara with an elbow , would have made that finals not so disappointing ha

I think if Jim signs Marky , demko could be a piece that could land us a D man to play with Hughes..... but I think it will depend on what Clarke thinks of our young goalies in the ahl..... cause if we sign Marky then we are set in goal for at least 4 years and that leaves three drafts to find another goalie...... also I think thx to jakes game growing and TT showing well with petey, Brock could be on the way out.....that's 6 million off the books and TT and Jake arnt a big trade down and TT and Jake don't have any injury history iirc not like Brock and his wrist and Jake and TT can skate better then Brock and the league is all about skating now imho depth wins cups.... a lot could happen at the draft ha

Maybe in b.c but we still have snow in Alberta and this pasted weekend we reached minus 30......so bird watching is kinda hard ha also I only like bird watching threw a scope...... also if you want to go into nature, last I heard there's still a bounty on wolves ha save the elk and deer.......

Posters have brought up 2011 and like now we lack toughness.....you need a roster full of gamers and push back if you want to win a cup, look at the blues last season...... if the Canucks want a cup then bring in real toughness not pests..... that 2011 team had no answer for chara or the rat......we didn't have enough toughness to shelter the Sedins...... i for one believe in the hockey gods and from the years I've watched and played the gods repay those that will leave it all on the ice and they repay those that spill the other teams blood the most.....look at the Bronx bullies or blues or the list goes on...... also thats why I want Josh Manson or Shea Weber or someone like them..... look at the Hawks......Keith needed seabrook and they balanced each other.......we have a Rich mans Keith in Hughes but Tanev is way to soft.... Hughes Manson Edler Myers would be the perfect top four and with good balance..... also the 2011 run felt more like a Cinderella run and not a run cause we were the best regular season team......
