  1. the canucks front office is "not looking to rebuild/tear down" lmfao.
  2. 100% agree. I'd say that players like Petey are harder to find than any sort of skill guy. Like Datsyuk, both in a similar mold imo.
  3. Like the title says, what a bizarre season: falling flat on our faces early on and still the disappointment thus far demko out of everyone playing lousy (now injured) JR beefing with Boudreau (will he or will he not be fired?) kuzmenko exceeding expectations and likely going to earn a big payday (pundits were saying he's not another panarin when we signed him but now on pace to equal panarin's numbers at the same age) on the brink of having to let go of our captain who is on pace for 60ish goals this season. I can't remember a season being as weird as this with all the expectations of making the playoffs going into the season and then all of these series of events being the result. Kuzmenko and the reawakening of Petey is certainly pleasant as a fan, but the rest have been all over the place. To think we didn't expect any of this not even 4 months ago. Maybe it just shows that I haven't been a fan for that long but...... has there been a season comparable in terms of the bizarreness like this before in this teams history?
  4. well I was listening to this interview and they kind of asked him on the spot. do you expect him to say, "no, he doesn't want to stay in vancouver?". like any agent he's just being diplomatic with the media and the real talking and intentions happen behind closed doors.
  5. that's true. in the end just venting my frustrations. I just hope we find some type of solution eventually.
  6. with all the years we've missed the playoffs wth the exception of that bubble run (which btw didn't even add in terms of team revenue), you'd think we might as well rebuild because at least the fan base would 1. have a clear message from the organization and 2. actual hope for a more bright future eventually. This whole-wishy washy schtick has gone on for near a decade and we sucked for most of it. We still went to games, paid for tickets and watched. If we as fans wouldn't realize the level of commitment it takes from an ownership group then how much longer would we need to wait? Forever? Look at the rangers who sent a message to their fanbase about some years back for example. Profit-wise they're more valuable than the Canucks (1/2 in the league) and in competition with other NYC sports teams like the Yankees, Knicks, Nets, Giants, Jets....etc. What else do we have in Vancouver? The lions and the whitecaps? You'd think Rangers owners would be more hesitant to even think about publicizing a "rebuild letter" to their fanbase, saying that it would take time for this process to be done and to be patient in an already heavily congested sports market. I understand what you're saying and of course there is the reality of the whole business/revenues. However there is a lack of trust in the Aqulinis and their pathetic way of handling this near decade saga.
  7. fans can and wanted a rebuild for some time. it's francesco who has never been able to and will continue to not be able to handle one.
  8. the fact that the former management group and even new management keeps trying this broken formula is insane. can't tell if they're lazy or walking on eggshells because of Francesco's watchful eyes. hasn't worked for 10 years and they're still doing it. unbelievable really.
  9. Note that he said organization, not city. He's not wrong. In fact, he's pretty accurate. This is a team doomed to mediocrity. Incompetence with dumba*s executives has been the same old story.
  10. I honestly had high hopes when we drafted Bo in 2013. I imagined him lifting our first ever cup after he was named captain in 2020, leading our new generation to eventually win it all someday. He took that discount on his contract and has always remained humble, earning his opportunities here. Bo doesn't owe this team anything. This organization/this owner has been a constant failure. For the people who are content with this management group. Really? Not that I was for Benning staying but what has JR/PA done better than Benning? They've FAILED in addressing the defence from day one when in their press conference they literally talked about it being an issue. They TRADED away draft picks for useless plugs like stillman/bear. They decided not to wait on a contract that WASN'T expiring until the next summer and offered floater Miller his retirement contract not realizing, our captain's contract would also be an issue. Foresight? Wisdom? Experience? Really? We were promised that with this "loaded" brass of management. Where is it? Just absolutely embarrassing and incompetent.
  11. hmm the 2010 hawks put up a good fight against that. but they're more gutless criminals than they are classless so yeah i agree
  12. chara wanting to stay relevant making up bs now lol clown. just enjoy your retirement and f**k off.
  13. He made the number 10 legendary. Maradona, Messi and numerous others followed in those footsteps. The first, the original and the greatest. Pele
  14. that's true. you never know what can happen and he certainly showed he has the ability in his rookie season. all the better if he does improve as a player and it's good to stay positive. i just hope his skating improves a little more.
  15. hmm similar stats wise for sure, but why are we comparing boeser to kessel specifically? because they're both RW? i feel like kessel, at least when he was younger, was a more fluid skater than boeser and is perhaps why his play when you watch it on the ice, was a little more dynamic than boeser's. I know there's all those fat jokes about him but Kessel could move on the ice. He even won the fastest skating competition before in the all star skills comp too (although I don't know how much stock you can put into that). and as we all know, the big complaint on boeser is his skating.. definitely an interesting comparison but i think they have different qualities as players (like their movement) and ultimately it could be those small intangibles that draw out how their careers will end up.
  16. honestly both seem pretty interchangeable. both add different dynamics but not outstanding or anything. garland has his qualities. Despite his size he plays in the dirty areas, adds that pest quality for the team to get under oppositions skin sometimes. boeser stats wise is almost ppg but skates like he has cement blocks tied to his legs. he's like a slower patrick sharp. would much rather give up either for a defensive prospect/pick and clear a bit of cap.
