Management showed confidence in him by playing him against the Flames. That meant alot of for him. Although we lost, it still gave him valuable experience but also showed him that this management really cares about him succeeding. He has been great averaging 2 points a game, which is the right number a future stud should average in the AHL. One more thing Willie D was too stubborn to give him a shot on the 2nd powerplay unit, if he got confidence in that series with the Flames it would of been something special. OH WELL. Willie has to understand going forward, if Baerstchi is going to be successful he has to have powerplay time because that's were he gains confidence and does his most damage.

He will be a solid 3rd liner who can probaly if he works really hard reach a Jordan Staal or Sutter comparison. I think he could surprise but he seems like a game changer player- plays well in big games. Just take a look at his junior numbers. Hopefully, Benning doesnt use Gaunce as trade bait because he's a unique player that plays the game the grinding way but has a decent shot and has decent hockey IQ. Eg he isn't no Higgins but he will be a perfect 3rd line guy. Comparison Jordan Staal Never had a player like this, who goes into the dirty areas to score goals. Look at his first 1 he scored for Utica, crashed the net. Something we fans have been begging for from our players. Crash the net and get those dirty goals and this is what Gaunce is.

Career 50 point guy, I don't see him being our first line guy, but I do see Mcann being our 1st line stud in the future. For Horvat to be a 1st line center: a) he needs to improve his shot b. his decision making (skill) c) speed

More of Wille's antics in the playoffs. He refused to play Baerstchi or Horvat on the 2nd unit powerplay. No point in relying on Sven to bring offense 5 on 5 because I can see him being a powerplay type of player who will make an impact when there is open ice. Next, I didn't mind his game in Calgary. On that play he tried setting up Mcmillan but Mcmillan was pushed into the goaltender, which somehow resulted into a powerplay for the Flames'. In short, I can see Sven becoming a 2nd line guy averaging close to 40-50 points, I don't see him being a elite stud.

It's a huge risk calling up Baerstchi, it can go great or really bad because you know the Flames' will try to hit him and the thing is can he absorb a hit? We don't know this, therefore, it's a risk.
