This myopic nonsense means nothing.  BC's population increase 1.2 million in 12 years and saw a mere 4% emissions growth while almost tripling its LNG development, increasing development to unheard of levels AND nearly tripling its port systems for imports.

Nova scotia saw an almost 70% drop in coal usage for the majority of its energy needs, saw an abandonement in its entirety by numerous oil and gas developments off of sable island and increased its renewable energy sources from 12% to 27% in that same time frame with a promise to be off of coal by 2030.

Sorry, this story doesn't tell you what it is supposedly hoping you it does.

Apparently your missing the point of it, a rebate does nothing close to help and it hurts the economy when it could be eased it over time.

There could be a lot more ways and the oil companies should be fined to continue business from the gross amount of price gouging and have new laws in place where gas stations would be audited and fined as well.

I love the idea of climate action but it should come at the expense of big oil and make them take a portion of every litre in case of any clean up if they cause any environmental damage and more just because it wasn't considered beforehand.

There are so many ways to overcome this b.s. rather than making us pay because it filters on down to people instead of super rich companies that get rich off us...

My whole point to begin with.

I don't know how this conversation got diverted to my profile, but I'd like it to stop now. If you really care to debate this, ask King Heffy or Sharpshooter for an invitation to the Adult's Table and start a Carbon Tax thread there.
