  1. I am using the mall as an excuse not to get more Christmas gifts though!
  2. Absolute joke shutting down gyms. Why didn't they just go back to the limited system we had before where I had to book my workout time so there was limited people there at a given time frame. Yes lets shut down something that helps people stay fit and healthy and aren't the ones being the strain on the medical system while we let the unhealthy people continue going through McDonalds and getting that burger, extra large coke with a side of fries.....
  3. "But now a decade into retirement" Easy to say when you're in retirement. More difficult when you're actively competiting, training and beat out your competitiors the last 4 years for the 10 minutes of fame you're gunning for.
  4. The NHL won't cancel anything unless they are forced to. They will just postpone games into the olympic break (which I highly doubt they are going to now) and end of season. To many TV contracts to risk cancelling games, they will do whatever in their power to postpone and still get 82 games in.
  5. I saw Bryan Adams when I was a kid, wasn't that good you're not missing anything.
  6. This is the one thing I don't like. Have governments realized they can flex their muscles and just force people to not vacation, not travel, not do anything just because they say now? How quickly will they be to pull the rug out on the slightest thing in the future that could or could not be. I fully support the vaccine but the limiting and segrerating vaccinated and unvaccinated who can go to restaurants, gyms, etc. is a little far in my eyes with them flexing more and more "power" over everyone. And how often have we seen "do as I say not as I do" like the memo leak the other day of rapid tests going to government christmas parties but not to the general public or how many officials have taken vacations. Or whats not "essential travel"? I need a mental break from the crap, is me going away on a vacation somehwere warm to zone out and relax for my mental health not essential? I feel they are pushing their boundaries way to far at this point.
  7. We cancelled our January mexico trip a couple weeks ago because my kids are young and couldn't go to daycare for 2 weeks once we came back. It sucks, it would have been our first vacation (other than to vancouver island) in like 5-6 years.
  8. Does Abby have a mascot yet? Haven't had a chance to get to any games yet this year.
  9. We have just dumped billions into the fires/floods/covid. Atleast in 2010 there was some sort of idea for the coffers of money, the last 2 years has absolutely destroyed our economy, I just can't see us affording it. Would be fun but unless theres very little interest and the IOC is going to give a sweetheart deal which they never do, I would have no interest in this any time soon. To much money still being used for everything else needed more than another set of games.
  10. Other star players around the league play PK for years. They are usually the smartest and best with their sticks so it makes sense. You could easily do the old Brodeur style where he had everyone not shot block and clear the lanes so he could see the puck, where the forwards take away one time lanes and more less just get their sticks in the lanes to try and force shots to in certain areas.
  11. Even if they were Canadians, our judicial system is garbage. Why we have such POS sentences is beyond me.
  12. Weeeeee good start to the recovery from the floods......
  13. I need to see some TikToks of people doing this!
  14. Unless its changed everything I read earlier in the week say its more contagious but less lethal. Sounded like at the time it was minor symptoms which were a cough and sneezes but at the time there were no hospitalizions with this strain. If so sounds like its getting closer to the regular seasonal flu unless something changes.
  15. Appreciate it. Tons of people are going to be going through hell for the next few months just attempting to get their homes back to working state. A lot of these were basement suites so tenants are really screwed now.
  16. You must love living in BC then!
  17. I like the Bolts one, not a big fan of the Nashville one but I would probably buy it if I was a Nashville fan haha.
  18. Our ground and streets just isn't made to take this amount of water. I heard the last 2 weeks have been 3x the average of all of November. That's a lot of water, even if you live in higher ground and sloped ground that waters just not draining unfortunately. It was a nice 4am wakeup when I checked Facebook group for the floods and someone was pleading for help because they had no clue what to do about the water going into their parents yard. Took us about 3 hours to get it down where they could start cleaning the basement with a shop vac and then we just kept moving the pump back and forth to the 2 "drains" and pumping it into the road. Unfortunately the water table is so Damn high he's been going back and forth all day. I ended up heading out to the Chilliwack sand bagging area for the rest of the day, just got home. It was crazy how many guys were driving trucks and trailers around, grabbing pallets of sand and delivering it to people around town as they called in desperate. I bet I saw 200+ pallets go out for deliveries today. Met a ton of nice people there to! Wicked group of volunteer people to work with too try and help others. Probably head down again tomorrow and see how many pallets are there in the morning and probably put in a few more hours.
  19. I just spent the last 5 hours helping a guy pump out his basement where his parents live because the water tables are so high right now. Its gonna take a while to get the water table down to a level where the ground will drain properly
  20. Needs to start with Jim and Wiesbrod. Need a new GM to get a feel and start getting the ball rolling. This seasons toast already, may as well run it out with Green and let the next GM figure stuff out.
  21. Because spending millions for prevention is never a good political move. They could have done it, and come the next election it would have been brought up as a massive waste of money because it may have not done anything and been seen as a waste of tax dollars that could have been spent elsewhere. Its a bad political move, good move for long term financially. Its almost like when the Feds told BC to build Hwy 1 6-8 lanes back in the day. BC said "nah we don't have that much traffic right now" and now the slightest issue and roads are backed up like hell. The cost back then was way less with inflation these days, would have been way cheaper per tax payer to do something like that than to attempt to try and retrofit extra lanes like they keep talking about. No government (both Libs and NDP) want to spend money on things that wont be an immediate benefit that they can tout the next election.
  22. Oh yea years ago some started combusting on a truck and had to get dumped off at a place I was working. We took it and threw it through a grinder and broke it right up into tiny tiny pieces and it was able to put the fire out. Theres a place just up the road that I bet will get some of it and dispose of it like that.
  23. I was guessing 18 months before the Coq gets fixed but you seem to have more of a clue. I figured it'll be high priority and things will be moved a bit quicker but really until spring it wont be able to get started because it'll be snowing up there soon enough.
