I think sounding like a simpleton helps Benning to look less intimidating & cunning as a GM. That's a good thing. It's very inviting to other GM's. I think he can get more out of arrogant people. Those guys won't be trying so hard to beat him up in a trade or in the board room. More ruthless & arrogant GM's play hard ball with the other more ruthless & arrogant GMs. Benning just sounds like an 'Aw Shucks!' kind of guy.
