  1. Every playoffs we see it, except our GMs are probably vacationing then. Big, mean teams go far. We continue to be small and polite. We have a coach who knows what it will take. Hopefully he’ll have some heavy influence with decisions around our future acquisitions.
  2. Such a strange year. We’ve only seen 3 games in each conference finals, but now we already know it’s Panthers Vs Golden Knights. One of those two teams wins the cup this year. That means the list of current teams to have never won cup goes from 13 to 12, with one of the teams that came after the Canucks getting to enjoy the cup before us. Lame. Please not the Knights.
  3. Let’s not undersell Myers. When the going gets tough, how many of our defensemen can do this?
  4. Agreed. Miller consistently brings the offense, and has now shown he plays well defensively in a proper defensively structured team. He isn’t going anywhere. He gives our team some swagger. He’s the Han Solo of the Canucks. Petey is Luke.
  5. Still only 28 years old. Big, quick, and hits. We just saw in the playoffs how Leafs admit Schenn was their second best defenseman in the playoffs. These types are what gets teams wins. Our team needs a player like Tryamkin.
  6. Wait, okay, did you hear that one from Amanda Hugnkiss?
  7. Why is the thread called part ways? That sounds so friendly, like it was amicable. The guy was fired, canned, and Leafs are heading down hill. Let’s not be so polite with the title.
  8. Most exciting Canuck in history. He’d get a big haul for sure. It was sure fun watching that guy with the puck. So creative, fast, and hungry for goals.
  9. It really is sad, isn’t it? Dallas, Vegas, Carolina, and Miami? Those seem like All Star game locations not home to the Stanley Cup this year. Oh well, next year it’s Vancouver. I can feel it in my bones.
  10. Exactly. That would be amazing if they could bring Seattle over in an exhibition here.
  11. I don’t know why any team would give Toronto a haul for Matthews when they’ll have a chance to get him for nothing next season. He won’t sign with the Leafs before UFA hits. He’s all about the money, and this is the whole reason his agent structured his contract to open at UFA.
  12. I’d like the Canes to win, and the lose in Finals, so then the Leafs will have lost to the team that lost to the team that lost to the team that won the cup.
  13. Not sure about that. My guess is Canes will cream the Panthers in 6 games or less.
  14. Did we see any replays of that? Seems to me CBC had no problem reshowing Sedin getting punched repeatedly by the rat. Marner’s face pummelling should be a gif.
  15. I remember the Sportsnet folks saying how the extra day before game 3 was such a big advantage for the Leafs, to regroup. That sure worked well. I hope they get ripped apart on Wednesday.
  16. Not even bothered or surprised. We’ll make playoffs next year, and we have a good team moving forward. As the Panthers are demonstrating, if you have great goaltending and buy-in from a club, and toughness, you can rock it in the post season. We just need to get tougher.
  17. Matthews has a no-move clause that kicks in on July 1, 2023, and that's the first date the Leafs can negotiate an extension. Funny how Sportsnet refuses to highlight this fact even though it’s less than two months away. They’ll be stuck with him and he’ll walk for nothing straight into UFA.
  18. I was originally quite angry that Schenn went to the Leafs, but that was a beauty take out on Samsonov. A very solid hit - nicely done.
  19. I was hoping they would. If it was any other Canadian city, you know they would have.
