There's a PhillipBlunt hateful comment on the 4th page of the David Booth PTO post you need to get rid of and deal with the poster. I reported it twice and no action yet.

Hopefully as a moderator you can try to understand why it is hateful and has no place on a public hockey forum.

      @PhillipBlunt

Did you call David Booth, "Nero"?

      GarthButcher5,

Is this regarding David Booth killing Jesus and loving animals? That was merely a switcheroo of what I was quoting. While I think you are vastly overreacting, I'll let Stealth decide. If he wants me to remove it, I will.

Fact is Jesus was killed, if you believe in the Bible. I was raised Catholic and am well versed in how he was turned on and denied by supposedly close friends. I know the history and in no way do I consider it hateful. It doesn't mock Christianity at all. I don't devalue who Jesus was or what he stood for. He was righteous and fair. A peaceful guy who was woefully misunderstood.

It was stupid comment, not a hateful one.

  2. Kristian Vesalainen easily for me. I've seen him play first hand a couple times, he embarasses defensemen who try to handle him as he has a great combination of speed and strength and drives hard to the net with the puck

With Cracker gone I'm hoping for some more Gaunce and Grenier sightings at Canucks games
  4. Consensus was that there is not a generational talent like McDavid, Crosby, Gretzky but that it would be a very very deep draft.
  5. Ya but the big guy Gauthier plays for Canada.
  6. Ya I agree, as always it seems, anyway Jake's move before the goal to get into better position to anticipate where the puck would be going and to get into a position to score I thought showed some big league maturity.

I'd say Burrows has been pretty strong in that department, the biggest problem with net front presence is the mistimed shots coming in from the d.

I'd say yes as long as his season is over in Europe all though it may depend on how long his contract is for. I only say this based in consideration that a couple years back Jensen played in Sweden and came to the AHL when his season ended. In fact, the Canucks blocked his Swedish team from trading him to a playoff team so he would come to the AHL.

Hard choices to make and hate to see these guys go but probably the right thing to do long term. Maybe a prospect could be gained in return as well instead of just draft picks who may be several years away.

    Ben Hutton | #27 | D

Hutton certainly is a different player so you are correct in that he is nothing like Bieksa but its pretty hard to dislike Bieksa, he loved the team, the city and the fans and played with a lot of heart. He did what he could to make up for any shortcomings with other intangibles.

Hatred is a strong word and it is very dishonest to put words in my mouth that I haven't said. The thing is when other players have actually shown that they have improved their play as opposed to a guy who gets every chance and chokes in key situations, I'd rather pay money to watch the guys that are showing improvement .

    Vey is not an asset
  13. Cool to see...thanks for travelling 8 days into the future to send some highlights back.

Absolutely, Gaunce looks like the hardest guy to play against if you're the opposition, a true warrior. I haven't jumped on the bandwagon to criticise Benning or Willie yet but this kind of stinks of rotten politics considering he's not a "Benning" sweat heart draft pick or traded for player. I'm still waiting but not holding my breathe to see Vey do anything at all in the preseason to show he belongs on the team.

I agree, it seemed like the situation in Calgary last year was less than ideal. Jake was still one of the younger players on his junior team and in the WJHC. In Calgary, it seemed some of the older players were getting lot more of the key ice time. Being another year older, one would hope those opportunities will come to him but they can also come under the guidance of an NHL coach.

So true, hopefully we can also get Brock and Demko signed sooner than later and in the system.
  17. I'm sure this would cause a hue and cry around here but I think you are correct. We don't need to be like the Oilers and rush guys in prematurely so that they can get hurt and lose their confidence, the older prospects such as those you've mentioned should be the ones getting a look, I'd also include Gaunce who will certainly get some NHL games this year.
  18. This is bona fide legal-ease. I was hoping the NHL had closed this loophole but it doesn't appear so.
  19. Good thing with these guys is that you don't have to make a decision to sign them right away.
  20. I searched YouTube for clips and all i found was a figure skater and a bunch of old Vodka drinking Russians.
  21. Bob MacKenzie had him at 48, seems he slipped from the midterm rankings. All in all, seems like a solid third round pick.
  22. I can't help to think that the ship has sailed on McNally ever turning pro. Sautner will get a look with one of the Canucks affiliates this year.
  23. It would be great to watch him go deep into the playoffs with the Comets. This would be a perfect opportunity to position himself for a shot with the big team next year.
  24. That was my goal, now I can sleep tonight.
