  1. Yeah I get that. My point was the 10 years of drafting part. Since Gillis took over in 08 if memory serves. Benning picks would be included in the 10 years. Anyways, small potatoes
  2. Fair enough. Than I suppose you'd agree that no one should immediately jump to a conclusion about a Benning pick? Which was pretty much my original point. (actually it was don't make a post ripping management for a decision, then complain about people bringing it up when it turns out you were wrong.)
  3. Kevin Connaughton, Nikita Tryamkin, and Gustav Forsling are NHL quality players to some degree. Gillis was about immediate impact over long term gain, which is fair given where the team was at. Some understand that, some don't. And even then the picks he did make, weren't bad picks at the time for the most part. Generally picking players where they expected to go (Hodgson) or grabbing fallers like Schroeder and Sauve. The fact those players didn't pan out isn't on Gillis. He couldn't predict Hodgson's back issue or Sauve being hit by a car.
  4. Pretty much my sentiment as well. But you know that if those people who make the negative posts ended up being right, they'd be the first ones in here telling us about how right they were
  5. 100% people love to critique/call out the management to try and make themselves look smarter. They sure hate when they get it back. The risks you take posting your opinions online, especially if you try and look smarter than others
  6. Botchford said it's a preventative wrap in the newly dubbed "Athletties" Boeser's struggles seem more about timing/playing slightly timid. Which for anyone coming back from their first major injury is fairly reasonable. If he still looks like this by game 20 we may have an issue
  7. Easily avoidable if you don't make knee jerk reactions and realize the people in charge of the team DO actually know more than all of us.
  8. LOL oh yeah. "Crosby will never win as many cups as Toews." classic.
  9. Fair enough. But it's not like the Wolverines and the Canucks even play similar styles, at least to my knowledge. So he'll be right back to the drawing board next season. He's obviously very intelligent so learning new systems and structures shouldn't be the end of the world. He wouldn't have been at the world's if Jeff Blashill thought it was an issue. Maybe he's roving around a little to much, but I'd assume his coach is wanting that otherwise he'd be benched. As you said this year is all about him growing stronger, and maybe putting some mustard on his slap shot. Really excited for this kid.
  10. Isn't this exactly what was said about Pettersson. I don't think coaching him out of what got him here is a great idea. There's a large gap in skill between where Hughes is as a player and where (Jordan) Subban is.
  11. I see the comets being a very competitive team who should be able to at least challenge for the Calder. They'll have one of the best goalies in the AHL. Guys like Gaunce and Boucher have proven to be efficient AHL scorers. Plus the likes of AG, KL, JG, OJ, JD all adding a lot of depth to the players returning from last year. While I agree with others saying it might take a month or two to start clicking, but once it clicks it should explode.
  12. Personally I think our best option is Edler - Guddy Hutton - Tanev Juolevi - Stetcher MDZ - Pouliot Stetcher is by far our best dman at advancing the puck up the ice. The Athletic actually did a really good job highlighting how good he is in an article today. So he needs a steady/calm defensive influence on his left, and non of our other LHD really fit the mold.
  13. It's a bit of both. There's always missions queued up, but there's lots of roaming missions as you swing through the city. Mixed with things like challenges and collectibles along the way. Honestly it's just a great game. Looking forward to the upcoming 3 DLC in city that never sleeps season pass.
  14. I've had it since release and I love it. Being a huge Spider-Man fan I knew I'd love it. But the gameplay is unreal, swinging through the city is the best part, I haven't fast travelled once. The main story is well written and stays true to the comics while also being original in a really weird way. I'd highly recommend it.
  15. You can't just write up contracts with bonuses to my recollection. I'm sure somebody will give a more thorough answer but if I remember right bonuses are exclusive to ELC and 35+
  16. Travis Green is that you? Lots of star centers struggle with face offs and still play center. Get off the high horse. https://puckbase.com/stats/faceoff-percentage
  17. At least with Hughes and Tryamkin the average height will still be like 6' 3" for the pairing
  18. Please dear lord let the spelling teachers stay out of this thread.
  19. Boqvist has a learning disability? Is there any actual proof of this?...
  20. Yeah I don't see the Barzal comparison much. MB has elite edgework, almost Crosby style. Cozens looks to have a really long stride, makes it kind of hard to compare.
  21. The grip strength was Gadj. Who also does a lot of rock climbing
  22. Truthfully enough people on this site seem to have a crystal ball, we might as well start a thread about it.
  23. You know what they say about dad jokes. It's not a dad joke until it's apparent... I'll leave now.
