  1. Not to ramp up your anxiety but "pre" season for this team actually started April 7. In fact, there are only two seasons as far as I'm concerned, though I'm willing to allow for something new like "post" season this year.
  2. Yah, and they’re not nearly long enough either.
  3. I’m assuming that is not a Hobbit standing in the middle but rather a Russian gymnast of some repute?
  4. Fair enough but my experience is that what prognosticators prognosticate is seldom gospel. This part of the business is fraught with wild swings of opinion so eighth might really turn out to be nineteenth or it could mean third.
  5. Always good to learn something about how things are done in other places. I have to say the Moose uniform is quite fetching particularly the mostly red version highlighted by SID.
  6. Not what I would expect from a KHL club. Looks very North American if I might use the simplest and most stereotypical cultural observation I can. Didn't realize the Russians had such a sense of whimsy!
  7. And also bring whoever designed those stylish uniforms ....
  8. Delorme’s clenched fist, Mulvey’s bloody and defeated face. What a culmination of emotions for the team and for us as fans (a youthful one in my case). For me, as a singular moment of pride, it has yet to be surpassed.
  9. Greatest “post goal” “moment/circumstance/reaction/photo-op”. The Tiger Williams stick ride at Maple Leaf Gardens would be eligible for this category. Not necessarily great goals but great reactions/celebrations (although Orr’s goal did win a Stanley Cup). Teemu Selanne’s glove toss trap shot also qualifies among many others.
  10. Reinhardt is in a completely different class than any defence man who ever played for this team strictly from an offensive perspective. Check out the personnel of the teams he played on and look what he accomplished. Also was a force in that 89 playoff series against his old team Calgary.
  11. What a moving testiment to the heartbreak of love!
  12. A fair observation, but that naïveté doesn’t stretch any further than your implied cynicism that TG’s message “behind closed doors” will be demonstrably different than the one he has publicly voiced here.
  13. If he's working anywhere it's down in San Jose with Doug Wilson. Heck, he probably is Doug Wilson.
  14. I thought Higgins fessed up on the last show of the series but could be wrong. Magnum always suspected it though.
  15. Yes indeed! Why they ever felt the need to do a remake I'll never know. Just can't reproduce the chemistry that original cast had.
  16. Indeed, though this “marathon of marination” does not allow for immediate gratification, the kind that I have to admit feeds a certain narrative of progress which, even now with this team, is quite intoxicating. I think we all want our drafted players to evolve with speed and assurance but as always patience is a virtue. In the meantime we’ll be aggressively, passionately and consistently reminded of the relative failures of a bunch of twenty and twenty ones year olds who are endeavouring to live out lifelong dreams and a GM who I suspect, in this market, will never be off the hot seat.
  17. Because it’s not so much OJ’s failure to live up to the promise of a number 5 pick but rather an indictment of a GM who missed out on selecting what, to them, was at the time, and presently, the clearly superior player. At least that’s what I sense reading between the lines of these types of posts.
  18. This take sounds so ridiculously reasonable that it should satisfy almost everybody on this forum who have had a go at the topic at hand. Please, please, please can this finally be the last word? ( I know, already too late for that but a guy can dream).
  19. The list includes only those contracts with at least four years of term left on them so it appears this is nothing more than a reminder that Louie isn’t the only lump of worthless excrement out there. Lots of opportunity to spit out more vitriol if you’re willing to widen your scope a little!
  20. Ahhhhhh....the old reverse psychology trick! Very clever you rascal! Louie's going to read this, he's going to get mad, get inspired and hit the ground running at training camp. A new Louie who demands top 6 ice time! A new lease on his NHL life! And he will have you to thank!
  21. Exactly. This might be completely outside of the box thinking and certainly flammable in this forum but why not prop up LE as a potential asset ? I suppose it's easier, and will serve to placate the bloodthirsty rancor surrounding this player, to send him straight to the purgatory of Utica as a punishment for not living up to his contract but if there is any chance to maneuver a trade I'm quessing his value couldn't be any lower. The effort should be in highlighting his positive attributes in order for some other club to take a leap of faith and, colaterally, make the Canucks look good, as well, as an organization that supports all its players (even though admittedly Louie hasn't come close to earning his pay grade or that kind of loyalty).
  22. I think crap and fan have already met and the resultant messy dispersal has splatted on Dubas’ stylish glasses and neatly coifed hair.
