  1. Ee, you dont know what im saying. Seek to understand. I'm saying that anyone claiming Brodeau isn't the goat simply because of the team he was on is like saying Gretzky isn't the goat simply because of the team he was on. Brodeau leads basically all categories. Until someone beats all his records, I'll hold onto my opinion. Sounds to me like you're claiming the fact that Roy played on other teams and still played well means he's better than Brodeau, and I'm saying, "how can you make that claim when Brodeau played for (essentially) one team?" Hardly seems like a good faith comparison. Enjoy your opinion.
  2. Are you serious with this question? Because he played his whole career with NJ means it tarnishes his accolades?
  3. Maybe you both need to go back to read my original point? Brodeau was an amazing goalie, which is why he leads basically all categories for goalies; same for Gretzky as a forward. Someone said Brodeau was the product of his team, and I said that's like saying Gretzky isn't the best player of all time because he was the product of his team. Just because The Great One had a better ppg in Edmonton vs any other team he played for doesn't make me change my mind that he is the GOAT, same as Brodeau being the goalie GOAT.
  4. Compare his points each year with Edmonton vs LA and any other team he played for.
  5. Gretzky didn't put up numbers even close to what he was doing in Edmonton. Even so, in LA his teammates weren't slouches.
  6. 100% agree with you. I think people look at how he's been on the trade block as a sign he's useless, but I'd say it's a sign that he's the winger we have with the most value and thus easier to move (of course, moving anyone these days is tough). Joshua - Suter - Garland is a sick 3rd line I'm hoping to see.
  7. The Sedins should have a chat with Petey about how long it takes to build a winning team, and even then, winning the cup is not guaranteed. I love Petey - my signed Petey hat is my fave - but if he puts himself and money before the team then I'm fine with cashing in on a trade. However, I still think he'll sign with us for at least four years.
  8. Iirc, there have been reports that there was a personality issue when Seider started to take the lead on the back end. I think it'll be interesting to see if he plays with Hughes or on the 2nd pair. If it's the latter, hopefully he embraces the role.
  9. Considering Hughes didn't have a goal last year until half the season was over and then still ended up with 7, I'd say he'll hit 10 this year for sure. Hronek can also pop in 10 (he's an empty net specialist, which we haven't had since King LE).
  10. This new coaching staff of Tocc, Foote, Gonchar, and the Sedins are the types of coaches to have the team get off to a great start rather than pissing and moaning about a loss and then having it snowball into a losing streak. Green and Boudreau were not the guys, and neither was Bo leading the charge. Also, now that Hughes and Miller as the two main guys leading the way with their vocal accountability, and Petey is leading on the ice with his high-level competitiveness and playing accountability, this team is gearing up for a smoking start to the season. Bo was too passive in so many ways.
  11. No news is good news, as they say.
  12. By that logic, Gretzky isn't the best forward to ever play the game because of the stacked team he played with.
  13. Fingers crossed that projected 1OA pick decides to stay in college all four years and then signs with his hometown team who drafted his brother
  14. Stanley Cup finals. I won't go as far as saying we'll win, as I don't want to jinx it, but that's my wild take.
  15. I could see him go 11x8, but I'll be surprised if it's more than that, personally. He'll sign with us, though. I believe that he does love Vancouver, and I also believe he will buy in to what Allvin & Co will be selling him. With the history the Canucks have with Swedes as well, I see no reason why it won't get done. It has to get done.
  16. Marty, and I can't believe anyone would consider someone else. GP, wins, GAA, SO, goals, points...
  17. Maybe he'll sign for more than that. The main point still stands.
  18. This is going to be a big year for Woo. He'll be a leader in Abby and almost certainly see his dream come true and see at least one NHL game this year. Lots of fans were slagging on him over the last couple of years but forgot just how young he has been the whole time. He's a underrated prospect for us. In 2-3 years: Hughes - Willander DP40 - Hronek Soucy - Woo Balanced, big, and skilled. I can't wait.
  19. If I were Allvin, I'd say to Petey: Let's lock you in long-term for what you're worth (8x10.5), and if you truly don't like how the team performs over the next three to four years, you let me know and I'll find a trade for you.
  20. Kuzmenko - Petey - Boeser Beau - Miller - Mikeyhev Joshua - Suter - Garland PDG - Blueger - Podz Hughes - Cole Soucy - Hronek Wolanin - Myers Demko Silovs

This thread should be a poll. I vote Miller. Granted, he's had his moments, but a true leader admits mistakes, learns, improves, and then leads by example. This is Millsy. A true leader can not only lead on the ice but also speak for the team in times of need, and not only in times of success. This is Millsy. A true leader has been around for a while and been through a lot. This is Millsy. A true leader signs a long-term deal for a team he believes in. This is so far Millsy. Just give it to him already. But also pay Petey what he deserves already. Let's not lose the soon-to-be greatest Swedish-born player that ever played the game.
