  1. The AFC is just loaded with some young guns. Mahomes, Burrow, Allen, Herbert, MAYBE Mac Jones
  2. Not many people do, unless they are in that Satiah Shah type of crowd where every pick we make in the draft are seemingly destined to be all stars LOL I still feel though the development from the farm needs a bit of help. Theres really something wrong going on there considering we've really only graduated 1 guy thats a bonafide NHLer (Demko) and the other guy is barely keeping a job and hes not even with the team (Gaudette) in the past 8 years. I really hope the new, management fixes whatever shortcomings there are in Abby, Im just not sure whether its Cull or Ryan Johnson is the problem with our lack of depth
  3. I see it somewhere in the middle. Theres also a distinct possibility that Miller is kept to play the season out and see how far they go, and maybe decide to trade him in the off season. Rutherford is in the evaluation stage right now as he's stated. JR is in a wierd situation because he came to the franchise mid season so he really doesn't know what he has long term with this team. I know that extra playoff run is added value, but waiting until the offseason, his value stays, and maybe increases as more teams decide "ok do we need a JT Miller?" and have the the cap room to plan their moves. If the team somehow keeps winning and ends up, lets say 3rd seed in our division by the time TDL , I think JR will hold off until the summer to decide. Like you said, when you're in the playoffs, you have a chance
  4. With acting skills to boot. He was great in Hotel Rwanda and in the Oceans movies
  5. Green might as well tell Demko to wear his mask backwards
  6. You might be right. That would explain why opponents scored first practically all the time
  7. Hell yeah I would. If Rutherford can squeeze a 1st or even a 2nd out of that, that would be ideal.
  8. It shouldn't be ruled out. If Lafrenniere was playing like gangbusters, like on pace for 30-40 goals, hes definetly untouchable. So far this season, he's just been so so, hardly the straw that stirs the drink. Regardless of what his potential is, if the NYR think they can win this year or possibly even next with Miller, it should be an option. If his name is even uttered in a phone call (do they still call people?), it will get Rutherford's attention
  9. They are on the cusp, but adding Miller would defintely make them at the very least Eastern finals material. They have a solid back end, and probably have the best goalie in the league. Adding Miller would put them up there with the Lightning and the Panthers. Id even take a 3rd with Laf and Schneider, if we can get a 2nd, great. But if Miller ends up with the NYR, and the rumored deal is a 1st and an A -level prospect, even 2, that pick is a throw in since it will be in the late 20s. Whatever the deal is, trading JT is going to command, like you said, a kings ransom. His value is going to be astronomical come trading deadline.
  10. Because Miller would probably take them further in the playoffs than Lafrennier. Laf is talented, but if the Rangers feel that JT is the missing piece, they might include him. Might be a Joe Niewendyk. Iginla situation where you have to give up the best player long term (thats a maybe) over a chance to win one cup. Lets just say Miller ends up with the Rangers and they do trade us Lafrennier and others and NYR ends up winning the cup. It wont matter if Lafrennier scores 200pts 5 straight seasons for us, its mission accomplished for the NYR because they won the cup. Thats what matters in the end right?
  11. I wonder if Lafrennier would still be untouchable if they knew they were getting Miller
  12. Yeah his contract is going to start with 8 X 8million. Its not like he's a flash in the pan too, he's been great the last 3 seasons so the consistency is there. JT is going to get maximum dollar for his services. This is his jackpot contract thats going to set him and his family for the long haul, I don't blame him one bit for chasing the $$
  13. Terrible call. They were better off throwing another short sideline pass and getting an "easier" play to the endzone or getting 2 Hail Mary shots to get it TD with a chance of getting a PI in one of those attempts. I practically fell off my chair seeing Dak run with the ball
  14. They do need to fire McCarthy. That guy is an idiot, almost as retarded as Douche Staley, or whatever that moron coach's name with the LA Chargers. I'd be weary on Dan Quinn though. He's a fine DC but he wasn't very good when he was the HC in Atlanta
  15. Jimmy orchestrated the Hershel Walker trade, and made a lot of moves with the assets they recieved. Theres a youtube video of the great Herschel Walker trade and how it almost singlehandedly built the cowboys dynasty. All the compensatory picks, moving up and down in the draft, its quite incredible how Jimmy Johnson turned the Cowboys into a powerhouse in the early 90s. At their best, they were borderline unstoppable
  16. Yup. Thats the reason why Jimmy Johnson, the REAL architect of that Cowboys dynasty was fired. He was getting all the credit and Jerry Jones wasn't having it. In fact, The Cowboys probably would've been in a worse situation had his son not step in on the decision making. Jerry really wanted to draft Manziel, in behest of the scouts and his son Stephen told him to F-off and told him they were taking Zack Martin. Martin has arguably been on of the best guards of his era, multi pro bowl, multi all pro nods, will someday make it to Canton, while Manziel ends up being a bum
  17. Miller has been great here, don't get me wrong, its not his age, its his next contract is the issue. Point a game centre (or more), his next contract is going to be massive, he can easily command 8 years X 8 million per. I think hes going to be UFA, not this summer but the next one, along with Horvat. Horvat is a fine player, but 50-60pt 2 way forwards, theres quite a bit of them, point a game 2-way centremen, thats a whole different story Id love for them to keep Miller, if the team was in a different stage, like we are a cup contending team, a sure-fire playoff appearance, no doubt they might've worked something out. An 8 X 8 contract would just cripple the team long term. That was the cost of getting OEL. I knew when the deal happened, one of Horvat, Boeser, Petey, Miller, would most likely be gone in the near future.
  18. Miller's value right now is probably a 1st round pick and a top tier prospect. At 650, they mentioned the Rangers wanting Miller back. That would be great if K'andre Miller is somehow involved in that deal
  19. Same. Even if Dickenson gets a very meager return, I'd rather keep Motte. Unless of course theres a deal for Motte that we cant refuse. Heaven forbid we get offered a 2nd and a B level prospect somehow, can't turn that down
  20. Motte had a lot of viewings in the bubble and Im sure teams will write off last season due to the injury. The guy was an absolute beast and still is trending upwards when he's healthy
  21. What part of lets go with your 78% did you not understand? Funny, supposedly i apparently dont believe in facts and yet im the one pointing out the victories and accomplishments of Gillis. All those presidents trophies, pacific division banners are hanging in the arena. How is that not fact exactly? I hate Donald Trump. Is that really the best insult you can come up with? You millenials are hilarious
  22. I didn't bother researching the minutes, nor do I care and nobody tells me what to do. Either way lets go with your 78%, that 22% probably made the difference between them being ousted in the first round, or making it far in the playoffs. You can't assume that the same roster was going to make it far in the post season as Nonis tried adding pieces to just slip in to the playoffs and failed in his last season (Keith Carney, Shawn Pronger, and ahem, Marc Bergevin LOL ). Lets just say it wasn't Gillis that was the GM after Nonis, can you guarantee there was presidents trophy and a stanley cup in that tenure? Probably not. Great example, Tampa Bay Lightning. 3 years ago, they were swept and they were the best team in the league, without question. Blake Coleman, Patrick Marroon and to a lesser extent, our own Luke Schenn was added, and proceeded to win 2 stanley cups. That was the same core that was swept and the addition of a handful of players took them to the promised land, so dont tell me that 22, 15, 10 percent don't matter because they do. Coleman and Marroon played key roles in those runs as support players. You can't bank on just maturity because that Lightning team needed a little bit more grit, and whatever holes they had got filled. Gillis did the same with Nonis's team, to a lesser extent of course And your comment as they were a "maturing team", geez, how long did you expect the players to simmer? Sedins, Luongo, Salo weren't exactly spring chickens when Gillis got a hold of them
  23. I dunno, Burrows came out of nowhere to link up with the Sedins, the rest was history. Im not saying the same thing is going to happen, if it does, thats awesome, but Motte is well deserved of that opportunity to at least be in the top 9. Seems like hes just been pegged as just a 4th liner, but I think theres more there and he proved it in the bubble. Right now though, i think Bruce will ride that 4th line, they've been very good the last handful of games. Hopefully they can keep it up, Highmore and Lammikko are playing well, any reason to have Alex Chiasson stapled to the pressbox, im all for it because the guy has been straight up garbage.
  24. Oh ok so youre saying is that whoever took over the team after Nonis regardless who it was Gillis, Rutherford etc just put any GM there, automatically its assumed that theyd go to the finals, division titles, just because all those players were in their prime. The fact you keep harping on poor alex mallet and the numerous draft picks, tells me youre one of THOSE guys lol Answer me this, did you want the team regardless who was the GM after Nonis, did you want them to go to the finals or no? Had the Gillis won the cup, and still drafted terribly, would you still have the same stance with Benning?
