  1. Pete ain't signing long term sub 12 book it. Hronek will surely get 7 even if you're right we save a mill at best and have 7 instead of 6 to sign 5 players doesn't move the needle much. Like @Ghostsof1915 said it's not so easy to just head down to bulk barn.
  2. Myers 6 + Beau 4 + Beluger 2 + Cole 3 + Pearson 3 = 18m ish Petes raise will be close to 5 Hroneks will be 3 then we have to factor in OEL 4m ish = 12 which leaves us with 6ish mll to get 2 x 15-20 min RHD, a 2nd line winger and a 3/4 PKing C Hopefully guys like Hoglander, Podkolzin, Raty, Bains will shore up our fwd group and we won't feel the loss of Beau, Beluger, Pearson the hope is always that they will not only replace but become an improvement. On D however honestly I would have no issue extending Myers at 2m as a bottom pairing guy and just waiting for Willander to cook. We are going to have to be frugal and hope for the best.
  3. Who wears number 9 again? Good hustle by Rathbone #3 on the far end there too.
  4. I think he will hold our feet to the fire for 12m knowing that he could sign in any of Dallas, Nashville, Seattle for 10 and have a similar take home. I don't see him taking less than 12.
  5. When I was a kid the Nordiques were practicing at my rink (Britannia) The Flower teed up a puck at center ice and caught his backup goalie in the mask knocked him unconscious I'll never forget he went full fencing position stiff as a board fell flat on the ice. I got Guy's autograph later when he went off the ice for a smoke. I got Brunaby Joe's too it was an incredible afternoon.
  6. I fail to see how linguistics play a factor.
  7. Hindsight is a biotch aint it. I'm getting a strong feeling that we are on a long path to no where right now as well. The reality is Pete Hughes Demko are great pieces and they give us false hope. The team built around them is a house of cards. If we weren't able to compete with Miller 5.5 Pete 7.35 Kuzz putting up 40g @ sub 1m Demko 5m These are hugely efficient contracts that more than offset the inefficiency of Myers, Brock, and OEL who was great in his first year. When we factor in the present Pete will be north of 11 Hronek north of 7 Miller 8 OEL 4 Kuzz 5.5 our teams combined cap will increase 13-14m for essentially the same product we can shuffle the deck around them but the cold reality is we go all in this year this is as good as this team gets. This is the teams last gasp before it's time to tear Aqua/Bennings team down and sell high. We didn't re build when the writing was on the wall last time. This time we are in a much better position to actually be able to re build this team correctly. 2025 looks like a hell of a draft year. 2024 is loaded with D. If MGMT has the huevos they will take this team as far as they can go and then dissolve it. We simply do not have the foundation to be legitimate contenders. Paper bag me if you wish.
  8. Nothing wrong with mentioning Todd Diamond as an agent we have not had a great time with.
  9. Are you going to open mouth kiss Fabers rear.
  10. Todd Diamond isn't that Tryamkins agent? Hopefully things go better this time.
  11. And then he went on to the playoffs where he scored at a blistering 23g pace only matched by the likes of Tanner Pearson and Tyler Motte who had none of the offensive deployment Brock had. Over half of Brocks points coming on the PP. 8th in goals per 60min from our regular season leading scorer. It was this playoffs I realized Brock didn't have it. I hope he gets it but at some point we've seen a large enough sample size. How many off seasons have we said this is the year. I'm always optimistic it would be such a feel good story if this was finally the year.
  12. I disagree with the bolded. I'm not so sure he has the shot in his arsenal anymore. I agree with the rest 100%. I think his IQ has allowed him to continue to stay relevant the added girth gives him the brawn to get those greasy ones around the net but has slowed him down. I don't think we see those goals from him anymore where the goes mono a mono with price and blasts one by him. Most of Brocks goals these days are scored below the circles. Which don't get me wrong is absolutely a valuable trait but thats where you want a Joshua or a Gadjovich. He's not scoring from distance anymore and IMO isn't nasty enough to play around the net even if he's able to make it work 6.65m is too much to pay for him to be a garbage man and we need 100% efficiency on contracts with the OEL penalty looming. Brock had 18G lastyear. IMO Joshua could have had similar numbers in those mins costing sub 1m
  13. This is IMO well deserved Kipper was so frikin dominant. Good for him love to see it.
  14. That's great n all. The problem is when you take him off Pete, Miller or Bo's line and replace him with a Beauvellier, Garland, Pearson, Kuzmenko not only do the offensive metrics but the defensive metrics as well of the entire line improve. So yes he get's points but the line he is on as a whole regresses. https://moneypuck.com/lines.htm
  15. Why? Don't we like powerplays? In 21/22 he was 30th in the league in points 5v5. I don't understand why you hate this guy. He's got more jam between his toes than Brock has in his on ice play.
  16. Me too. I really do want him to succeed so bad he's such a likeable guy. You can't help but cheer for him.
  17. It'll only get you so far. He does need to find another gear this is a reality.
  18. I don't think Brock's got any fire in his belly. He's a great guy with a ton of talent but he's just soaking it up loving life care free. You could literally behead Pete infront of him and his response would be "hey bro that wasn't cool you need to chill more I'm having a BBQ later you should come." Is he going to score in the playoffs?? Does he have the battle and drive to push through adversity? I see a guy who's just having fun playing shinny at the pond with a couple beers in a snow bank. Can't be mad at the guy he's just not wired to be a pro athlete. That he's gotten this far on his gifts is remarkable and good for him.
  19. I mean Virtanen is a douche. But did we need a teeny FWD in Ehlers or I want 10m Nylander? Would they be the answer?? Tkachuk was going to bolt to a US market as fast as he could and he did. Not every pick pans out. The thought process behind picking a pwf with elite speed and a D we needed so badly who had just played at an elite level with elite players was sound. Sometimes it just doesn't work out. Will you also hang current mgmt for picking a tiny winger that my daughter could strip the puck off of in the corner? And reach for a RHD who has no history of any sort of offense except for one WJC *cough* where he played 3d behind ASP Lindstein. For the record I'm happy with the Willander pick because he was the best RHD on the board and we need those. I did have But well ahead of him though guys his size who skate and shoot like him are unicorns. Willy isn't exactly a towering defensive D if his offense doesn't come.
