Bieska went on to play a further number of seasons, so there was no rush to move him

Jim Bennings legacy without the OEL trade. Grade him out of 10.

Consequence is not a popular concept in todays world and that incudes hockey. Put it doown to cancel culture There has never been so many post game quarterback than we have to day IMO. LMAO -
So many fans inundate the fforum with their need for a big D'man and yet some how, some how Jurmo fails to qualify. I liked him in the WJC and after all that's one of the most scouted tourneys. If Vcr doesn't sign him some one else will

You can't be serious. No professional GM refers to the Vcr fans before they make a move, none, zero, zilch. Why would they spend thousands on scout if all thy need is access the the Canucks forum, think about it -
Yeah i think he's pretty fixed as a Florida resident and who can blame him. However it would be nice to hear the oddmention of him as in W "Well Dale thought" during management discussions. I will say this a senior advisor has been badly missed in Vcr for decades. I always though Pat Quinn could have filled the role of thoughtful second opinion/thought/reflection

I think there's a comparison to be made between Pearson and the Stall Brothers. Vets with soome thing tokeep the train on the tracks

I have to say I'm surpised how well Gudas is playing. Certainly a couple of turn overs but he does play a big game and I suspect every player on the Vegas roster know eh he's on the ice.The other thing that has impressed me are the Stall Brothers, quality vets hel a lot

Brule was a perfect example of impatience. They put him and basically his childs body direct into the NHL. He had his ribs crushed in hsi first season... Ouch

I'm sorry what he's been through is no excuse. Likely every one on here has lost a parent and you know what you get up next day and go back to work. It's not nice but neither is life all the time. That excuse is getting a little long in the tooth IMHO. I'd like to be shocked wth a turn around next season if he's still here but I have serious reservation -
The question we need to ask ourselves is Pettersson better than Hirose. To me Hirose is standing in his way for the next number of years. That's not to say I don't like him, to me he's good especially at his age. However Hisrose is 24 and likely ready this coming season. Plus who knows maybe Jurmo steps up. On the other side it's McWard or Johansson, especially now with Bear injured for the opening of the season, even if they do sign him. Unless we get a RHD in the draft. Man it's sparse on the right side

Yeah if there was ever a perfect display of incompetance then Juolevi was it. I used to watch the guy and think what am I missing ? after a couple of games it became obvious he couldn't pivot to the left and for a LHD that's a crucial need

And he isn't .....good. One thing he could do is to loose some weight and be willing to sacrifice. No one is knocking on the door for a bargain pick up because he isn't .... a bargain pick up -
We don't get another Hughes but he's the nearest D'man to him. As Craig Button said at the WJC wake me up if he ever makes a mistake. His introduction to the SEL was to replace a top 6 man, in stepped ASP and ended up with, as I'm told ended up as the D'man with the most TOI. Coaches want to win, that say a lot to me These are fact and indeed he played the most TOI of any D'man in the WJC

Wih all these skills you'd think he'd be easy to trade, but no one wants him. The real BB is not the BB that some make him out to be -
When it comes to who we pick it looks like there's no real bad pick. However the canucks do need to badly bring some quality to the defence IMO. It's been a thorn in their side for a long time. We have more forwards than we need. But I'd concentrate on a good D'man. I think a player like ASP could make our current forwards more productive and certainly cut down on goals against. Too often our current D look like a fire drill in their own end, add to that some forwards who don't help defensively and you end up with Canucks today. This is not a draft where you go for the sexiest of the guy who has eye catching stats in junior. This a draft about building a more complate team IMO

Gillis DID win period!! Maybe for those who didn't follow the Canucks at that time they judge him by what did he give us today, which is wrong. He left 9 years ago (2014) -
I see DaleTallon is still listed and yet not sound is heard from him or indeed management. Senior advisor hockey opeations. I would have thought he'd be a tad more visible. Does he have an opinion, does he tend towards the Pro scouting ( I doubt he travels the amatuer circuit, it's more f a young mans job ) Does he attend scouting meetings. I'm simply curious

Clearly the best GM the franchise had ever had based on success. Too many go on and on and on about drafting, it's important, but winning is the most important. Thats what the Gillis era brought. -
Well maybe just maybe, just maybe they did try to include some cap relief in the way of an extra player off their books, however, maybe Detroit told them to shove it where the monkey shoves his nuts. When YOU are wanting to make the deal as a rule that puts you on the back foot. The question is did Vcr approach Det. or did Det. approach Vcr ?

How long until we are competing with Vegas & Colorado?
Fred65 replied to Nucks89's topic in Canucks Talk
There's good weight and then bad weight. the need to meausre body fat is important -
Rathbone had a trajectory similar. I tend to think how he shows in is first year as a pro will give every one a better judgement
