  1. No most of the fan base IS embarrassing but there are good fans out there who stay through thick and thin. But not only most fans who are embarrassing, so is our Vancouver media writers, and the game commentator's who are arguably even worse.
  2. Yeah and he got shuffled around quite a bit but was playing low minutes but his skill and drive was/is undeniable and the Canucks saw that and deemed it worth the 2 yr wait and there's a lot people who are thankful for that.
  3. Well as your last sentence states, not many goals yet but if he buried all the chances and posts he's hit or at least half of them he'd be up around the 12-15 goal range but that's only because of bad puck luck and still a bit raw but he's been working on his game and it's obvious and showing signs of his potential which we still have yet to see but seems to me he shifted from 3rd to 4th gear and has a 5 speed and he just now got into fourth gear and having fun with it and you just know he's just ramping up... Now if we could just clone him! However, I believe we have another guy starting his 2 years in Abby and that's Klim, I'm even more hopeful about him than Podz and I was stoked we picked up Podz when we did.
  4. Seriously? That's funny!! All those epic failures you speak had a hand in building this team up to where it's 2-3 bigger bodies away from a contender that will last more than one hurrah and done. As much as I cringe to give anything to that clown LE he helped other guys with their D game, Rous was supposed to mentor bonehead Virtanen but maturity isn't everyone's thing, some get there later than others but you can never know either way until the test of time is over, I don't care what GM tries to guess at maturity but it doesn't guarantee that guess will be accurate because it's just that, a guess (at best) Beagle helped Bo with leadership and professionalism taking over from the Twins. All JB could do was plug holes to the broken p.o.s team he took over with a roster full of crap contracts. Plus, and this is the biggest thing of all that people forget, Canada is a 2nd tier market that an amount of players just won't come to period or have to be overpayed to come (thanks be to our Canadian taxes) and on top of that even.. worst fans in the league, riot proved that, bush league media, bush commentator's calling games. Who the F would actually WANT to come here if not HIGHLY paid, b.c. boys maybe but given a chance, the USA reigns as the place to play as much as that sucks it's not going to change. So try being a GM under those conditions, I sure wouldn't. Yeah he buckled to public opinion and did somethings he shouldn't have BUT at the end of the day we're a lot better now than when he first started. The 2012-2013 team was broken, and even worse because of MG's locked in roster, it was doomed to stay that way until the last one was off the books and a product, like it is now that is a good team and a trade or 2 away from being a contender.
  5. That boyish face only fools guys for so long until they get hit by him.. then they get mad..
  6. Signing Martin on a 2 yr deal was the perfect thing to do, we all saw it coming I think but 2 years is probably enough time to see if his play keeps up with being consistent. IF Martin can be really good (with proper continued development) with Ian, I think we have a relatively good chance of having another Demko in the making. Nice to see a guy come out of nowhere and catch attention with the lights out play that he played on his short sample size up with the team earlier this year. As Demko made Markstrom redundant, I hope that Martin makes the same with Halak but we'll see right? Here's hoping!
  7. Too hopeful.. I wish it weren't BUT probably a lil too hopeful, however the Canucks are due for a miracle, we couldn't win a lottery draft to save our lives. Definitely due...

  9. I'm not sure that at this point it matters as we're still a few moves away and get some skilled toughness into the line-up we'd get destroyed in the playoffs because we all know it's nothing compared to the regular season, if for some crazy reason the stars align for the Vancouver Canucks and we do toughen and size up with no loss to speed or skill then when and if we get there, our identity is that we could beat anyone in the league or give them a hard run for their money. There are small bright spots of Klim and Podz that could really turn out to be a huge help besides cap space. And another of Lockwood not looking that out of place with us right now and at worst we'll have a lot more competition for roster spots and depth that can step in without looking out of place. Are we there yet? No but for once it's good to see guys like Klim and Lockwood at least with potential to help us out so we don't have to suffer trying to afford to sign other upgrades and raises with minimal cap movement hanging over the NHL. Hopefully thing work out for a change..
  10. Of course, he was supposed to be one of the better players to ever show up in Vancouver but... It stopped at "supposed"
  11. Omg I was watching the game and saw LE and my blood went cold... All I could think of was "that as$hole again?"
  12. Well imo that's because JT has spent the last month showing them what it's like to give it all EVERY game.. not just in some games or not showing up until the first period is over
  13. Is it just me or is Podz picking up a LOT of speed and better reading plays and anticipating where to be and quickly one step ahead of that and getting it down pat.. As he's going forward with experience I see him as someone the opposing team keeping him off the scoreboard and on a regular basis. And I thought his D game was very good when he got here but now even that has stepped up bigtime as that same anticipation that's seems to be honed with each passing game and practices. I'm relieved to see this, I sort of expected it in a way but it's coming down to game by game and it seems he's having a lot of fun out there too but great pick and I'm glad we got him in spite of the 2 years wait.
  14. Wow we actually played in the first period! And as raw as Podz still is, he's looking better and better every game, NHL experience was a win for us in his case this year and when he catches fire that's one less roster spot we have to worry about, Klim up next I hope but ahl experience for him is a win for us in a way too, definitely a change over European big rink style but he's looking better lately and we sure could use a cap break on a ELC but nothing is guaranteed but maybe he'll make it..
  15. Yeah well I'm thinking he's gone after this season so buying one? Meh...
  16. Really? What on earth got us in this mess in the first place?? Omfg dude I've been watching this b.s. since day one and over and over it's been buy a roster with picks for the majority of the franchise history and that's exactly why we don't have a cup and after Gillis this team was a shi* show, broken and no depth but how is that any different from any other year before that since 70 f'n 4!! Yeah sure it's fun to watch a butter soft skilled team with no depth or a tougher one but no depth but neither one can get through a gruelling grinding cup run. It simply doesn't work like that, remember when we said we wanted to model out team after Detroit? Well that's because they developed players that could step in seamlessly as if they were doing it all along and THAT is how you build a franchise that's a solid contender over the long haul. That is not Vancouver and never has been so no cup, big surprise... (Not so much)
  17. I don't expect anything to be "built" in Vancouver, if it does I'd be very surprised, most people in Vancouver won't stand for a build, normally it's trade away picks for roster players. Then we get a good team with next to no depth that finally get hits with injuries in the first round(ish) and get to the exit door first. This, is so not new, most people especially lately are too stupid to understand unless you build a team and NOT trade picks and develop them it's simply not going anywhere. Again, this is not new, that's why we have never had a cup. Blah......
  18. Hmmm interesting idea's, I thought of a green stripe like a picture frame idea but didn't follow the thought further..
  19. Maybe a simple phone call to the Nux office but yeah I thought of something like that but wanted to spruce it up a bit with a Nux logo
