  1. This team is the embarrassment of the league right now. - Start the season off with a 7 game losing streak - Stillman trade - President publicly calling out our coach but not firing him - More rumours of "friction in the locker room" - Luongo ROH/Number retirement fiasco - Boeser trade rumors/"scratch" This is hard to look at. Kind of ashamed to be a Canucks fan lately. This is all following 10 years of being a bottom of the barrel hockey team. I'll still support this team always but this management group is really starting to piss me off. Will it be another 5 years of mediocrity and lack of direction? Just not sold that this management group can get us out of this mess. I'm afraid they're going to make things worse based off this season's track record..
  2. I just saw a trade suggestion from a Habs article Armia 2023 2nd 2024 2nd For Boeser Armia has two more years @ 3.4 after this season. I'd do it. Whatever is going to give us cap flexibility to fix the defence in the summer.
  3. Agree. I think he'll find success somewhere else and become a 30 goal scorer for the first time in his career. It's just not gonna happen here though. He needs a fresh start.
  4. No way they are giving up Bratt. I don't think they'll have a problem signing him as they have a decent amount of cap coming off the books. Would you take Bratt at 8.5 or Boeser at 6.5? It's a no brainer for me...
  5. I agree. This team needs a killer instinct night in night out. Not just when they're threatened of being healthy scratched. IMO this starts from the leadership up top though. Maybe Bo needs to hold his teammates more accountable. Whatever the case something's gotta give. Trade em all expect Petey, Demko, and QH.
  6. It's gonna be a sad day when Boeser goes. I remember his rookie season watching him fly out there... Winning all star MVP was magic too. Then there was the first time Brock - Hughes - Petey were out for OT together and they were dominating in the offensive zone. Seemed like we really had something special happening, and our future was bright with those three. Just sad that we never really amounted to anything with him after having so much hope. This team honestly reminds me of a sh*tty co-dependant relationship. It has to end but you've been together so long it's tough. Lots of good memories together but lots of rough times as well.
  7. This one was bittersweet. Bo is probably gone. Boeser could be leaving. Both score tonight. Just go on a streak and prove everyone wrong please!
  8. How was that not a f***ing goal. Still beyond pissed. Giordano scored with the net knocked off two weeks ago. I'm willing to bed the net was knocked off even longer on that goal. This league is rigged. F*** Bettman.
  9. Honestly what a joke. This league is absolute BS! Why do I waste my time with this crap on a Saturday night!
  10. In late 2013 when I was in the depths of my addiction and starting to come down I suddenly remembered the Canucks were playing. I tuned in at the start of the 3rd period. Eddie Lack was in net and we were playing Carolina. I was so alone and broken in that moment... but being able to watch 20 minutes of that Canucks game made me feel.. at peace and at home. We lost the game if I recall correctly... but it didn't matter. I just felt a part of something for the first time in forever. Being a Canucks gave me some warmth that I desperately needed. Love this team till I die! Also, love hearing other posters stories about this team.
  11. Either go on a run or tank like you've never tanked before! I feel strangely optimistic about the next 6 weeks. I could see the boys rallying around the Demko injury and stepping up their play as a result. Just wish they would do that at the start of the season. Either way something's gotta change with this country club team. Go Nucks. Just play hard.
  12. Yikes. Sad to see at a family friendly event. I feel bad for the parents in the stands who brought their kids to the game. It's hockey and shouldn't be taken so seriously that it results in fistacuffs..
  13. Rebuilding teams don't rid themselves of their entire roster... Some of the guys will stay. Hopefully Petey and Hughes. Don't think those guys are the problem IMO.
  14. Lol Jesus. This fanbase tends to turn on every goaltender.
  15. He's had what, 12 bad games? Geez. Give the guy a break. He's been our best player for the last couple of seasons. No wonder why it's hard to play in Van City... Don't forget we also need a decent goalie in our net.. Demko will come around.
  16. Honestly I hope hockey can succeed there. It's a huge market, but if the Yotes continue to have an empty barn in the future this will be a colossal failure. I really can't see anyone going to these games if the team sucks.
  17. God dammit I agree. With the right pieces coming back we could really contend in 3-4 years. I like Bo alot but quite honestly I think JT is the better overall play maker, and I think retaining JT was the best move. Most of Bo's goals come from playing slot on the PP or jamming in loose pucks. He's obviously skilled at finding open positioning on the PP but we have other players who can fill this role. Having 17 goals but only 7 assists as a centerman is also puzzling. A centerman is constantly taking breakout passes and getting touches, so I question that low assist number. Again, I really like Bo... But anything north of 7.5 is not worth it. We could really get some great assets back to set us up for the future instead of pretending that if we retain everyone we'll eventually contend. I think moving on from him would begin a transformation that this team deep down to its roots really needs.
