    Different scenarios but Jake this season kind of reminds me of Kassian in the season Torts was here. Started the season off ok, then disappeared for a bit, slowly gained confidence, and ended off the season playing the way we all wanted to see him play. Kass got 29 points (career high still) that year with a big chunk of those points (over 75 percent iirc) coming from the last 30 games of the season. Hopefully we see the same, if not better from Jake.

    Woah havent seen Friesen's name in a while. Seeing him play I always thought he would have developed into a solid bottom 6 guy for us. Never really worked out though.

    For someone his weight, he seems pretty strong on his skates which is a good thing to see because he is only gonna get stronger

    Went to VC with rashaun for a year, NFL seemed to always be his goal and glad he's with the Bengals. Wish him the best of luck. On the other hand, Christian Covington is probably the nicest and most genuine person I've ever met from VC, known that guy for a long time. Glad there are two of them repping VC in the NFL!

    Really liking the way this kid conducts himself in interviews. Liking this more and more as time goes on. Hopefully he'll be a big part of the team going forward.

    I wonder how his physical game is like. Seemed fine in Chicago. I don't remember which game it was but Rodin absolutely ran over some dude while with the Wolves one game.

      It's not just about the points. Kassian has looked like a consistent physical force out there every game. Something he only did only every few games (ironically always showed up against Edmonton) with the Canucks.

      Went there on a road trip to LA in 2006.  I don't remember them to be anything special.  Cost wasn't high, so I wasn't expecting anything special.  Solid, low price hamburger.  I'd say Triple O's is better.

    Would have been fun to see Kassian and Virtanen play together against the Oilers. Oiler's fans would have a heart attack. For the past two years Kassian has made most of the Oilers fans hate him and the Canucks, Virtanen is continuing the trend

    He's pretty good, but not the physical beast Lucic is... Lucic has scheurmann's disease, so basically he's a 6'4 guy with the reach of someone who's 6'6... Also Lucic used to box as a teen. Lucic can at least hang with top heavyweights as well. Then again, Virtanen smaller so I won't expect him to be dropping em with goons to make the big league like Lucic did.

    For a fww years now we've had tough projected bottom pairing dmen that were looking promising. Sauve>Polasek>Cederholm>Tryamkin I hope the two we have now pan out.

    Let my buddy borrow my spare hockey helmet for ONE PERIOD and now it smells like catpiss. Anyone have any tips on cleaning it? Just spent 10 bucks on sports cleaner spray just for this purpose. Still smells

      Ok. Smells better now. Took a while though. Sunlight, Ferbreeze, Alcohol, antibacterial wipes, Lysol, Vinegar, Sports antibacterial spray... All got most of the smell out but there was still a hint of his nasty head odor on there. Turns out a few sprays of my acqua di gio cologne worked to remove that. Thanks for the help guys.

    watched this too. Completely forgot what happened in the middle of the movie. Clementine cake seems to be one of the main things I remember.... Dont even know why I ended up watching it either. Dont really watch those type of movies by myself at home

      Well honestly in Kassian/Bennings defense, over the last 3 years Kassian hasn't REALLY been in a Canuck uniform very often

    His shot in the shootout was sick. Thought it was Virtanen who shot it when I first saw the clip.

    i think Torts handled him well. AV it was hard to tell since Kassian was very young and even less consistent compared to how he was now. Av also randomly took him of the Sedin line to get Burr going... Anyways this is a Virtanen thread dont wanna hijack it. Hopefully Jake learns how to fight a bit better... Then he can be the classic powerforward everyone wants.
